There's a storm brewing out in the Pacific and headed this way, eventually. Tonight's subdued sunset at the San Leandro Marina barely hinted at it:

Clouds on the western horizon were precursors of rain storms heading to the San Francisco Bau Area, but generated a relatively subdued sunset at San Leandro's Marina.

Two days after disappearing by hiding in front of the sun, the waxing crescent moon appears, a sweet and shining sliver of light in the night sky.

The docks at the San Leandro Marina are empty, there are no more boats, on a winter evening at sunset along San Francisco Bay.

Tonight’s Wolf Moon two hours before it was officially full. To its lower left, Jupiter. Howl at every full moon, but especially the Full Wolf Moon.

Holding court with its brilliance dulling or completely obliterating others in tonight's night sky is the Full Cold Moon. The last Super Full Moon of 2025.

Here is something I didn't know (but then, there's a lot I don't know),

"The Old English and Anglo-Saxon names are the Moon Before Yule and the Long Night Moon. Both names refer to the winter solstice, and the ancient celebration of Yule. Another Celtic name is the Oak Moon."
Thank you, Time and Date - https://www.timeanddate.com/news/astronomy/moon-december-2025

So. go outside, look up, and if inclined, howl, at tonight bright and beautiful moon, and tomorrow, you can tell your friends how you experienced the Oak Moon.

I took its picture a bit early, it won't be full till about 5:00 AM tomorrow morning and I plan to be asleep then, but I digress. Here's my humble and wholly inadequate take on this month's Full Hunters or Full Beavers Moon. Not its fault, but the clouds played a bit of hide and seek with the moon, and then my time away from the software came forward and showed me how much I'd forgotten and missed with new releases. These are new times and I need to buckle down and . . . have some fun with all that is now at my fingertips.
