This is Slope Point, the southernmost point of the New Zealand mainland. Next stop Antarctica, and a very popular spot for visitors, especially since Instagram. It is at the end of what used to be a narrow gravel road, but so many tourists were having accidents the road was sealed, and now there are toilets and a carpark. The point is accessed via a 10 minute walk over private farmland, except during lambing. Now Instagram seems to be giving way to TikTok - these visitors from Western Europe were focused on flying a drone around themselves. The majesty of the landscape seems to have become a prop for home movies of folk for a a few views on the internet. Anyhow I made this image using a 40 year old Contax film camera, ZEISS Camera Lenses Vario Sonnar 3.3/38-85 lens, Kodak Ektar 100 film and LEE Filters ©All Rights Reserved

This is the village where I live! In Autumn the colours can be just magnificent, but most folk driving through barely slow down, and miss the beauty that is to be found in these tiny settlements, where there are but a few houses, but a strong community spirit. Which suits us fine :) A 35mm film photo made with Kodak film, ZEISS Camera Lenses and LEE Filters

When a slow moving high pressure system influences the weather in winter, we can have a period of freezing fog in our valley, the only benefit of which is what is called a hoar frost, where the trees and everything else is covered with soft ice! When the sun finally appears, within about two hours the magic is all gone! This is a medium format film photo. © All Rights Reserved.

Getting a feed of fish! Alan is our neighbour at Waikawa, and he always seems to have fish in his freezer! He knows exactly when to drop a line in the water off the old jetty, as he was doing this liveley Autumn afternoon! The last two weeks have just flown by, and I have been very busy! But I did get some rolls of film off to the lab, including some from our Christmas holiday! This is Lake Matheson, with Aoraki Mt Cook and Mt Tasman both hiding their heads in the clouds, and a light zephyr breaking up the almost mirror surface of the lake. A summer day in Westland ;) This is a medium format film photo made with Kodak film and LEE Filters © All Rights Reserved

Early morning light in the Autumn is just surreal some days! Morning mist, a field of lucerne ready for bailing, and the Dunstan Range in the distance, this is Ophir, in Central Otago. Autumn this year has peaked later than it sometimes does, and the colours are on full display right now here in Central Otago. This is the Bannockburn Inlet near Cromwell - an image I made about this time three years ago.
