God hears the call of His family!

“Today’s update from those on the front lines. We are so incredibly blessed and thankful for the thousands of volunteers, and the supplies that have come in from all over. You saw the need and you answered the call. You are all incredible.

This is what I’m hearing. All supply hubs are filled to capacity so at this time we are turning away trucks bringing in supplies. Maybe we will need them in the future but we are fully stocked for now.
The biggest need is that after all the houses are emptied from the destruction there are piles of furniture, trash and personal belongings that are sitting with no way to get them hauled away.
At this time there are no dumpsters available and dumps have closed due to also being full. When this changes we need ppl to sponsor dumpsters and labor to help communities fill them. There is still much work to be done.
At this time with thousands of volunteers showing up on a daily basis we are beyond staffed.
Gas and food gift cards and cards to Lowe’s hardware and Walmart are still needed. Gas for generators, lanterns, flashlights, batteries or solar powered lighting is still helpful

Thank you again and again for everything including your prayers. They are covering us with a peace many would not have without them.

Woke up this morning incredibly sore from helping on our project The Rock Service Center. All I can say is it was worth it! It was 3:15 am & my mind could not stop ruminating over all the tragedy I’m surrounded by. It’s going to be hard to move on… but I must. Our small business owners need you to continue too! Your weddings, birthday parties, & family gatherings are important & still need to be celebrated. We are not promised tomorrow. I know some people are saying DO NOT COME, but I say COME! Just please check your area first & remember service will not quite be the same & the eyes of the people serving you will not shine. There is this over arching mood up here that casts a shadow on everything … how can I move on in the midst of this incredible suffering? It feels like 911 here. Where will I live? Will I get my next paycheck? …. & when & where can I even wash my clothes! I can truly say those tips you give your server are golden. Be generous!! Give cash. The trinkets you buy may mean the difference of staying open or closing. The concern, patience, hope & smiles you will give will be priceless!

Don’t forget! Prayers needed. Today was pretty amazing. The Chruch has come together - ALL denominations - to do what it takes. Today, I saw so much joy inspite of the death & devastation in our surrounding areas. What was interesting is I didn’t see fema or really any national help. I only saw willing souls who were literally asking what can I do even if it was to clean toilets & help wash & take care of the elderly - cooking & serving in our local nursing home. It’s wasn’t the government. It was people of the body of Christ! If you want to know what it means to be the hands & feet of Jesus come and help or pray. You will be blessed over & abundantly more than you could ever ask or think. God is in this story. He hasn’t forgotten us. He loves us. He is coming soon.

PLEASE. To all my friends who want to help, the best use of your funds and attention is going to be the places that have been brushed over in the past few days. Watching all of the news outlets and the places who are receiving government help and aid are NOT the places that have the MOST DESTRUCTION. If you want to know what places you can help the most PLEASE REACH OUT. The people who need the help are the people living paycheck to paycheck, NOT the vacation homers and tourists who make a novelty out of my home.

Do what needs to be done for the people who need it. End of rant.

This is from a friend in Boone on Facebook & a pretty typical post in many hard hit areas! Please keep on praying! Her husband is one of the first responders in the sheriff’s department!

“Thank you all for the calls/texts checking on us. They really mean so much! ♥️It has been a hard couple of days. We are good though and able to get out. There is worry that the entrance to our neighborhood could collapse as it was compromised and washed really bad by the flooded creek. So we pray hard as we drive over it that it will hold us up. 🙏We do not have power or water. Cell service was terrible yesterday and finally got a little better last night. We have no damage to the house other than a small leak in our roof. 🙌We are extremely thankful for God’s protection. Our mountains look like a war zone. Please pray for our communities as some are trapped without power/water and can’t get out for food or anything due to roads being washed out, river way beyond it’s banks and trees down. Eddie is out working as are so many others. So thankful for our first responders and linemen and just good-hearted, loving people in this community who are out trying to help. Love to you all♥️”

So this happens when you take your eyes off your wallet & give to God with a heart of praise & thanksgiving. 16,000.00 for the Carter fund to help defer the cost of rebuilding from scratch!

I was also floored by our chief police’s nightly prayer. He said he prays this before he goes to bed. I was so touched. This was his list. I had to take notes. 📝 😆

1.Stop evil at the gates
2.Bring confusion in the enemy camp.
3. Protect officers & their hearts to do the right thing & do it well. 4.Give strength & courage to them.
5. Mercy for all those who need it.
5. Thank God for His faithfulness.

What an INCREDIBLE worship night, full of praise, prayer, and testimony! There is nothing more beautiful than King Jesus entering a room. We are so grateful for our partnership with The Gathering, and we are thrilled to share that as a community, we raised over $16,000 for The Carter family—to bless them as they rebuild after a devastating house fire! Praise God! 🙌🏼🔥
