Cornrows tight, patterns proud,
roots speaking loud.
From Harare streets to village lanes,
these braids carry sunshine and rain.
Every twist, every coil,
woven freehand, bare and bold,
Africa’s crown rests upon her soil,
heritage flowing through each line and spiral.

ሕይወት እንደ ወንዝ በዝምታ ይፈሳል፤
በእግዚአብሔር ብርሃን መንገዱ ይገለጣል።

ድንጋዮች ቢነሱ፣ መከራ ቢነፍስ፣
ውሃው በጸጥታ ይዘልቃል
እንደ ጥበብ በጥልቀት መንገዱን ይፈልጋል።

እያንዳንዱ ጭውውት ምስጢር ነው፣
ለልብ የሚገልጥ ትምህርት፣
የነፍስ መብራት የሚነሣበት።

እኛም በእምነት እንመላለሳለን፣
በምስጋና እና በጸጋ፣
በብርሃን መንገዳችንን እንሠራለን።
