I have so much work to share, films especially. I guess that’s what happens when you have to take half a year off from everything but the bare minimum!

As I dip my toes back into the land of social media I’m going to share some of the lovely, lovely families I’ve been lucky enough to work with over the last 18 months, because they deserve to be seen and loved on!

Starting with these absolute beauties!

They spent a glorious spring afternoon together, making memories & rice paper rolls! We captured a film too, but here a few of my fave images 😍

I have no great expectations of 2025.

2024 started in the most devastating fashion, and while there were a lot of great things that happened along the way, it was still a hard year in many ways.

That’s the nature of life though, I guess, there is no good without the bad.

So gently & slowly we’ve rolled into 2025.

A few games. Some reading. Dinner with family.

The holiday feeling is still strong around here so I’m leaving the real thinking and reflecting and planning and what not for another day.

Next week. Or the week after maybe, there’s no rush.

I’m just happy to be here.

We’ve come to that time of year where it’s really hard to keep the days straight, and most of us are just counting down to the moment we can turn on the out of office auto-responder and log off (literally and metaphorically) until next year.

After a last minute scramble I’ve gotten so many galleries out, in a fervent desire to go into the holiday period with as much of a clean slate as I can get.

I still have many, many films to edit, but what a wonderful thing to be able to say!

I really don’t take it for granted that so many trusted me with capturing the love & magic that’s found amongst the chaos of their ordinary, every day lives.

A little while ago I showed chatGPT a screenshot of my IG grid and asked it to describe it to me and it’s absolutely nailed everything that I’m about as a family filmmaker & photographer…

It’s always lovely & inspiring to be in a room full of photographers.

Especially when said photographers are all looking to blow off a little creative steam.

Had such a fun day yesterday hanging with friends and making photos. Thank you for creating a space for us all to come together one last time for 2024.

Taking photos just for the fun of it yesterday has got me feeling creatively renewed, and I might have just gotten my personal project mojo back! Here’s hoping anyway!

Watching you grow & learn these last 3 years has been truly inspiring. You certainly are the definition of strength & determination (although I’m sure your Mum would call it stubborn 😂)

I needed to spend some money before the end of the financial year, so I upgraded my camera (still waiting for it to arrive) and ordered myself a lens I’ve been eyeing for a veeeerrryyy long time, the Velvet 85.

The lens arrived last week while I was really sick with influenza a so it’s just been sitting in my office, taunting me.

Yesterday my BIL & SIL went to get their tax done and I looked after my niece & nephew while they were gone. We went for a looooong walk around the neighbourhood, and I finally got the chance to have a play.

I looove the soft creaminess of the bokeh, and how much of a difference there is between apertures and what result you get. It’s got a dreamy, vintage-like softness to it and I’m in love!

Walking with these babies yesterday though made me a little bit sad. I miss walking with my own babies when they were little, and so unconcerned with being watched & photographed.

Watching K and how much joy & pleasure he got from looking at the flowers and telling me all the house numbers, the way he’d skip & jump and dance along the footpath, argh, such bittersweet nostalgia it was.

Considering offering a new service, taking your babies for a walk & photos around the block while you go run errands or something 😂

In the car on the way to school this morning we were joking around about my parenting skills and P***y told me I should be a Pro Parent by now.

I told her that I wish I was, but there was no instruction book for being a parent and you just have to learn as you go and hope to do as best you can.

She thought about that for a minute, and then she said “does this mean you don’t know what you’re doing with me?”

And I told her yep, that’s the curse of the first-born, you get the learner parents and your sibling/s gets the Pro Parents.

She was not impressed 😂
