I'm thrilled to have been selected to participate in the Exhibition at The Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia.

I got an opportunity to participate in the Packard Group National Exhibition at the No. 7 Center gallery in Vermillion, South Dakota.

Artists from across the United States of America submitted photographs of their 2D artwork to the Packard Group National Exhibition 2021 to be displayed at the No. 7 Center gallery in Vermillion, South Dakota. Klaire A. Lockheart curated this exhibition, and she was pleased to include a wide variety of artwork made by professional artists, students, and everyone in between. This second annual exhibition included paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, weavings, and mixed media artwork. This last year was certainly a challenge, but this exhibition proves how resilient and dedicated artists are!

Jacmel Haiti Artist - Didier Civil

Didier Civil lives in Jacmel, Haiti, a southern coastal town renowned for its carnival celebrations. He developed an interest in papier mâché at a very young age and learned about this art form by studying Lyonel Simonis, a master artist and pioneer of papier mache mask making.

Didier is a celebrated artist and mask maker in his own right. Civil makes fantastical to realistic paper mache masks and costumes, larger than life portraits and imaginative animals. He also creates one-of-a-kind portraits as well as figures representing Haitian historical and cultural personalities. Some of these figures are larger than life, all lyrical, unique and imaginative work in paper mache.
