It's important to note that the practice never stops. And there are endless amounts of lessons to be learned from each moment we experience. We can always find a point to where we can elevate our current awareness, to lead better, to speak clearer, to love more within, to have more patience. Whatever it is, maybe just a shift in perspective can help us in seeing the intention a little clearer.
Here's a shot from the Pupukēa PillBox looking down at the Banzai Pipeline on an XL swell hitting the North Shore in the middle of winter in 2019.
In this image you have two very different experiences happening here.
One experience is coming from someone feeling an insane amount of euphoria from possibly getting the best wave of there entire life. Looking down the line into what turned into an absolute cavern of a wave.
And the other is coming from (If you look close enough) another surfer still under water with the tip of there board bobbing just above the surface! Now I watched both of these hammers go after both of these waves and the first guy got absolutely smoked and had not come up for air since he had wiped out.
Eventually he breach just after I snapped this photo and then immediately got another pounding as the guy on the wave was getting a huge section thrown perfectly over him.
What I learned on this day Is... it's funny how one of the most amazing experiences in the world can be completely altered by just a slight shift in perspective. As above, so below.
This photo will be featured at my Art Show on November 19th at and will be for sale along with an entire quiver of imagery from my time spent on the North Shore of Oahu.
One Love, Ry ✌🏽
