Psalms 142:1-7
I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble. When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me.

God doesn’t need you to put a filter on your life. You don’t have to worry that He won’t like what He sees; He doesn’t need you to download an app that makes you look better. He doesn’t accept you only when you are perfect or judge you when you fail. His acceptance isn’t based on your performance. He loves you just the way you are and has plans for you.

There is a shift that happens quietly over time where your tolerance for unnecessary chaos simply runs out. It is not bitterness and it is not becoming antisocial. It is arriving at a level of self awareness where you recognize that the energy you allow into your life directly shapes the quality of it, and that some connections, however familiar or longstanding, cost more than they contribute. That realization does not make you difficult. It makes you discerning, and discernment at this stage of life is one of the most valuable things you can develop.

The people worth keeping are the ones who bring the same care, the same consideration, and the same commitment to treating others well that you bring to every relationship in your life. Not perfection, just alignment. Just the basic understanding that how you show up for people matters and that mutual respect is not optional, it is the foundation. You are not asking for too much by wanting that. You are simply old enough now to stop pretending that less than that is ever going to be enough.

2 Corinthians 12:9-11

New International Version

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
