My son saw me editing these and told me they had aura. If you have a teen you know this is one of the highest compliments to get. 💁🏻‍♀️ and now I’m trying to convince him to let me go to the park and take some photos of him and his friends. 🏀😅

As my kids have reached the middle years I’ve learned that photos where they are doing an activity that they enjoy are much more meaningful. AND they are much more likely to be excited about doing photos! So whether it’s playing basketball together, going for a bike ride at your neighborhood park or eating ice cream cones in your backyard I am here for all of the activities that are natural to your family! And I am positive that these real memories are the ones that will be the most cherished.

One of the (MANY) things that I have learned from having an age gap with older kids to my baby is to really take notice of the details. Things like pigtails, kisses where they eat your face and how something like a flower is the most magical thing in the world to them. I find myself noticing these same things with my clients. The every day details that feel mundane but become the most sacred memories over time.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Arizona to attend ‘s Flourish retreat. To say it was a dream come true would be an understatement. It pushed me (way) out of my comfort zone and I walked away feeling inspired by all that I learned, encouraged by the incredible women that attended and a sense of clarity with the direction I want my business to go. And although I only took like 5 photos with my phone, I left with my (actual camera) memory cards and my heart so full.

Investing in myself and my business helps me to serve you better! For me, it’s not just showing up and taking your photos for an hour or two. It’s constantly learning and growing to photograph your family in a way that feels timeless, organic and natural to you.

Thank you Morgan for pouring your heart into this last weekend! .phillipson you guys made it so memorable, hilarious and truly the most incredible experience I could ask for. 🫶🏼

I get so comfortable being behind the camera that getting in front of it (esp by myself) was extremely humbling. 😅 literally the first thing out of my mouth was “I don’t know what to do with my hands.” Thankfully I had my incredibly talented branding bestie .photography to help guide me, make me feel relaxed and I was able to be myself. As a photographer I know just how valuable it is to have that time and space to settle into a more natural rhythm. Getting to know my clients before hand and guiding them in a way so that they feel relaxed and natural is my goal for every single session. So if you think you are awkward for family photos, I got you. You just need a little time and a photographer to help you feel like yourself.

Weather in the first photo > weather in the last photo. Photo dump from life lately (crafting, weekend getaway, blooms, bbq season, the kindest text msgs, youth sports and red light masks). March is the new May and I’m not complaining one bit. Soaking up all the sunshine and so excited for more backyard/pool sessions!

I have a lot of feelings about ai 🫣 but I asked chat gpt to summarize what the experience was like during a session with me based on my reviews. It said that my style is relaxed, authentic, and focused on real connections rather than just posed shots, that I’m warm and personable and that my clients often cried happy tears when they saw their images because it captured real emotion. So maybe ai was super useful this time because me trying to summarize the reviews would have taken about 4.5 months.😅 My goal with each and every session is to make it feel relaxed and to give space so that each family feels like themselves, resulting in natural images.

A huge thank you to this beautiful family for welcoming me into their home for the second time and capturing all of the love they have for their sweet girls. 🫶🏼

This might be a bit of a hot take but truly I don’t expect your kids to be on their best behavior during family photos. And when parents embrace this approach and don’t stress it allows everybody to relax, resulting in more natural images. So let your kids be themselves, play with them, laugh and soak up this intentional, uninterrupted time together. The imperfect perfect moments are the ones that you will want to hold on to long after our session.

It’s wild how fast it goes from a positive pregnancy test to a perfect baby in your arms. As a mama to 4 kids myself I know the importance of documenting those early days. As a newborn photographer I can make sure that you have photos you will cherish for a lifetime.

One of our NYE traditions is to watch a yearly video I make compiled of clips from (most) every day. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle of life to forget about all of the incredible memories we make. And so bittersweet to watch our kids grow older and the year fly by. Had every intention of taking more bts at sessions to also make a business video but I always get so caught up I never remember to take out my phone. 2025, you were a special one. Thank you to all of my clients/friends for supporting my business and trusting me to capture your beautiful families!

As a mama of four, I’ve lived through every version of newborn days. And currently still living them 😅 The sleepy snuggles, the cluster feeding chaos, the diaper blowouts and the way they find instant peace when nestled in your arms. And as a mama of older kids also I know those moments that I wish I can bottle up that are oh so fleeting.

That’s why during your newborn session, you’re not just getting a photographer, you’re getting someone who truly gets it. I know how to how to read babies cues and when to take a break and how to create a calm, gentle space where you can just breathe and enjoy your little one.

One of my favorite things about newborn sessions with multiple kids is getting to know the older siblings. I think it’s important to make them feel extra special since it is often times a transition with having another baby in the family. As a mama of four I understand just how unique each child is and how different personalities play a factor during photo sessions. Some kids have a ton of energy and are immediately my best friend while others are a little more reserved and slower to warm up. I try and make it fun for siblings, connect, play and make sure that they know just how loved and important they are too. 🫶🏼

I recently had my own family photos done and one teenage child who shall not be named asked (grumbled?) why we had to do them every year. Instead of giving a quick answer of because I said so I really thought about it… why do moms love family photo sessions so much?

1. We are constantly dividing and conquering and at this busy stage of life rarely all together. Having a photo with all of us AND me in it is rare. As moms we are often the ones taking the photos and rarely the ones in them. Photo sessions give us the chance to be present with our family, connect with one another and despite all of the chaos be reminded of the beauty in this life.

2. We are all well aware just how fast time passes. But luckily photos are able to remind us how this current stage of life looks, how little our kids once were and how what we do as moms matter.

3. Look I love my iPhone and with each new version I’m blown away at the quality of the camera. It is not the same quality as a professional camera though. It’s just not. Please don’t come for me Apple.

4. When your kid is student of the week and tells you Sunday night she needs a family photo now you have one! Plus you can update those photos on your wall, your IG and your Christmas card.

5. Photos are one of the rare things in life that will be passed down from generation to generation. Photos are a part of your legacy, moms make sure you are in them. 🫶🏼
