This is how the fisheye photo was made 🐟

Mr. Muoi is a Ro Cho fisherman I first met back in 2018 on my photo tours. The first time we tried this fun fish-posing concept together was in 2023 — and it’s been a favorite ever since! Ro Cho means “Rớ Chòi” — where “Rớ” is the huge traditional fishing net and “Chòi” is the small hut on the water used to manage and operate it.

The Red-shanked douc, or 'Queen of Primates,' is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, earning it the title of the world's most stunning primate. In Vietnam, it's known as the five-colored langur, due to its striking coat, which features a palette of grey, white, black, orange, and deep red.

Photographed in the vibrant Son Tra Peninsula, these incredibly agile creatures can leap up to 6 meters between trees. Conservation initiatives in Da Nang have successfully increased their numbers to over 1,000, solidifying this location as one of the best places to observe these magnificent primates in their natural environment.

Nothing beats that early morning light on the outskirts of Hanoi. I was driving past these fields of water hyacinth just after sunrise when I caught a glimpse of this scene. I hit the brakes, pulled over, and spent a good while scouting with the drone to find her again.

This is the "boots on the ground" experience I share on my workshops. Want to come along?

Just 2 spots left for April. DM me “VIETNAM” to grab one.

In the misty dawn on the outskirts of Hanoi, Vietnam, a lone farmer in a conical hat walks beneath the blazing crown of a silk-cotton tree, its bare branches erupting in vivid red blooms above swirling ground fog.

Local legend holds that these fiery trees offer fleeting shelter to wandering souls, hungry ghosts and lost spirits drawn to the blossoms, finding momentary refuge before fading into the morning light.

A quiet crossing where the living pass softly beneath the watchful unseen.
