A few heart-stopping moments were had to get these photos...

I had to wade out into the ocean to get close enough to the boat with my camera held above my head.

To get the de-focused waves in the foreground, I had to time the waves, wait for the dip and go low enough to capture the water but not low enough to go in the water...

Lucky I am tall. Lucky the waves are gentle. Lucky to get access to a beach in lockdown!

And most of all, lucky to have this woman waiting for me to come back home safe.

I wrote a guide for Vietnam Is Awesome. It covers the best things to do and see in Quy Nhon, also known as the Maldives of Vietnam.

With a name like that, it has a lot to live up to! And it does...

I traveled there a few years ago with Nhã Phương Ngô. I have to include this photo of her because it is one of my all-time favorites!!

Looking back on the time we went to the GREEN HILL HOTEL in Kien Giang province.

It is in the southern end of Vietnam and near Phu Quoc, but on the mainland. It was a really pretty area of Vietnam. Not many tourists!

We took a taxi there for about 7 HOURS EACH WAY because we had a little dog, Holly, and couldn't get a bus or flight. But it was worth it.

Thanks to Nhã Phương Ngô, Ann Brownbridge, and Nick Tennant for a fantastic trip!
