Election this guava crop is a serious and very interesting one.
As you go to the polls I want to explain some interesting perspectives.

13 candidates getting into the HOA is the easy part. Your picks are as good as mine plus or minus one or two.

The issue and headache lies with forming the Government.

People want you the voter to be loyal to them but they’re not going to be loyal to you or the people.

Let’s say PVIM gets 4 or 5 seats and needs 2 to 3 more.
The same PVIM and NDP who couldn’t get their act together will most likely have to merge to form the Government.

PVIM would shop with NDP for candidates and vice versa. Shopping comes with positions you know this.

Do not vote Party all the way.
Even within the last several months we had a member from the green polo shirts crew exercising his democratic right to jump ship and jump back.

Voting all the way didn’t put Humpty Dumpty together in the past and it’s not going to put him together now.

Ask any of these candidates if they will jump ship or accept another color. Then you decide if you will vote all the way. It was shown for years they will jump parties. So you jump too.
Make that leap for country not party.

Vote wisely.

If you think a group is together wait til top vote getters starts to demand Ministries and Titles.

We have party financiers we have committees who all want certain titles and some candidates won’t even have a say. It’s like they OWE and they have to pay.

After Monday. Kidnap your candidates do they don’t jump ship 🚢.

If all of us in this little nation with all teams made up of cousins and close friends can’t come together for the benefit of this little nation then something is drastically wrong with us and we have to fix it.

We are our own problems.
We are literally fighting for teams and people and when you look they all go to eat and drink with each other and it’s like mockery in our face.

I’m not telling a man who to vote for.
I’m asking everyone to reconsider your vote.
Vote wisely vote for country.

All the personal promises cannot be fulfilled but we can all benefit from better infrastructure, healthcare, education, litter free, beautification and stronger economy for these beautiful Virgin Islands we call home.

Only certain people can’t see the division and that’s the alarming part. It hurts to hear adults saying if you’re against the vax don’t go hospital. Everyone is entitled to healthcare they pay taxes. Not supporting the vax for whatever reason doesn’t mean that you’re NOT interested in other treatment options that have been proven to work. Something that’s so alarming shouldn’t people proceed and be cautious in their decisions and not rush ? Is something wrong with doing research and it’s taking longer than anticipated. Everyday the goal post moves. So if we need a booster who then now would we say is fully vaccinated?
It can’t be someone with 2 vax and an expired immune that’s down to 30% effective. A fully vaccinated would now be a person with 3 jabs. And can we let the world rich countries go ahead with 10 jabs and the poor countries not even 1???Look at the mathematical logistics and the costs.
By now we should have had the option to have personal tests that you can walk up to a restaurant and do a test that u buy from any store like a phone card and perform at the door and get your results in seconds. To know if you can enter certain places or not. The technology is there they can use it.

I’m so looking forward to Thanksgiving Day.
On our menu we will have hickory smoked turkey, ham and beef brisket.

Cooking tips for turkeys that I used are as follows:

Buy medium birds 12 to 15lbs
Defrost 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator.

I’m a big fan of brining, this gets the breast juicy moist and succulent. I will be brining for 48 hours.

I did a practice run and actually stuffed the cavity of the breasts with lemon grass and basil two dominant herbs in my home garden.
Did someone say delicious. 😋

Turkeys on my end will be smoked approximately 4 hours with hickory wood.

I’m a big fan of basting. If any parts of your turkey is getting burnt especially the wings you can always cover in foil.

It’s done for me when the internal temperature of the breasts reaches 167 degrees and the thighs 178.
Those are my go to temps for turkeys.

I actually have a thermometer that I can program to whatever temperature and it will alarm when it reaches that temp.
All done remotely or via WiFi with an app.

My last tip is don’t you ever forget to remove the bag with the liver, heart and gizzards. That’s a common error.
I actually like the liver.

My go to meal is the wild caught salmon which is pan seared and lightly seasoned
I believe they will soon start take it out my pay.
