The new Bison Stamp is nearly here — RELEASE DATE MAY 25TH.

“This bull had his head up as he looked around for some of his friends during the rut,” says wildlife photographer Tom Murphy of the bison featured on the upcoming USPS stamp. “Mostly, buffalo are looking down, grazing.”

That fleeting moment — a powerful glance across the prairie — became the inspiration for a new Forever Stamp honoring the American bison and its remarkable conservation story.

The animal brain is truly fascinating. 🧠 At first glance, this might seem like a simple image of a fox or coyote hunting, but look closer, and you'll witness a symphony of skills unfolding. These clever creatures have incredible spatial awareness, tracking sounds and precisely triangulating prey beneath the snow. Like graceful acrobats, they land exactly where they need to secure their meal. Nature’s intelligence at its finest!
