∴ The start of the birthday week began with a hike to National Creek Falls. This place was everything & more I could have imagined. Before leaving I created a list of waterfalls in the area to hike before/after I went to Crater Lake. I am ecstatic that the first falls I chose was this one, it was completely worth every minute. ∴⁣

✶⁣⁣⁣ Coral Fungi Genus Ramaria ✶⁣⁣⁣
⁣∴ There has been an abundance of Coral Fungi in the forest this year! Ended up coming across one that was starting to get pretty old at the base. I love the fade of colors in this one, it reminds me of Hades character off of Disney's Hercules. Third photo for reference haha 😆∴

✶⁣⁣⁣ Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) ✶⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣∴ First mushroom shot of the year & it’s a mushroom I have yet to have the pleasure of coming across in the forest, an Oyster Mushroom. Upon finding the mushroom the sunlight was peaking through the forest canopy onto it illuminating the underneath detail of the gills. I really love the bokeh effect that happened in the image including the small ferns uncaring on each side of the mushroom. Cooked them up that night to try it out, & I’ll have to admit they tasted pretty good! ∴ ⁣⁣

✶⁣⁣⁣ Elfin Saddle (Helvella lacunosa) ✶⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣∴ As per usual, once you see one mushroom your eyes adjust to ‘mushroom eyes’. Then all the fungi that is hanging out on the forest floor come into focus around you. You start to spot some next to the ones you’re looking at, then more further to the side of you, soon you see them everywhere. This is the excitement I went through when I found these / . Started with one & ended up with a cluster after observing. I love the textures of this mushroom, the stocks look like silicone & the random holes through that naturally occur is magnificent. ∴ ⁣⁣

∴ I love love love this photo so much. I came across this patch of Amanitas & noticed one that breathtakingly had its cap decayed & draping like a sheet over the top. My heart sang when seeing it, for mushrooms are only around for a couple days after showing up. From what I have noticed whenever I see mushroom shots you usually don’t see a decaying mushroom it’s almost always shot in their prime stage. I believe there is beauty in every stage even in death. ∴ ⁣⁣

⁣∴ Found (what I believe is) Chicken of the Woods in its older stages of life. This is the only time I have came across it too. It was quite a sight when I rounded around this stump & found them. I love that the stump already had new growth on the top of it too, it was a foggy morning that day & it was beautifully adding to this shot. Forest treasure hunts are some of my most favorite things to do. ∴ ⁣⁣

Witches Butter so far has to be the most enjoyable mushroom I can find. I love the layers upon layers it forms, & it has such a jelly like texture to it too. Generally you can find it on a down branch in the forest. I know spooky season just ended but not for me, its all year round.🌜🧙🏻‍♀️

∴ I made sure to get out for minus tides & found a magical area that gave a fun peak through to some glorious starfish, nudibranchs, & sea anemones. I love getting out to the beaches when the minus tides happen, a lot of the underbelly of the rocks are all exposed showing an abundance of sea life you usually don’t see. This was nudibranch cove though, on the left side of the image, that sea wall had about 10 of them across the whole wall. Then back on the sea rock you mainly see has about 5 more on that rock, I am sure there were many more I could not see. The species I found was a Monterey Dorid, I encourage everyone that is not familiar with them to look that up. Thank you everyone for continuing to follow! I know this platform is seeming more dead everyday, I am just going to keep doing me though & sharing my work. Much love. ✌︎ ✧ ∴

Make sure to zoom fully in, you can see everything from the Waldport bridge peaking out from behind the hill, people walking on the beach, the only straight stretch of road way between towns & then Yachats’ itself. I love how much is in this photo, have fun looking! 🙂

⁣∴ This is one of the first photos I had taken at any the pools here in Oregon. It needs to be recycled through because it’s too beautiful to not share again. You are all looking at the underside of a starfish in this image. I love the colors that came out when editing the image, the white whips make the image really smooth yet the all the little tubes then give it definition. Almost looks as if it’s underwater when the image was taken. ∴ ⁣
