I saw fog in the forecast and immediately knew I was heading here. UPS MD-11 landing in the fog well before dawn. The red anti-collision light illuminating the fog and tail section are really what make this photo!!! Plus the symmetry adds to it.

I totally forgot to post these photos. These photos led to exchanging social media info with Emily and Dale that led to Kaylie reaching out. Huge difference in the two sets. First I was using my best, most expensive lens (great glass will always be better than an expensive camera). 2nd I was shooting from the pier and not into the sun. 3rd there was no fog or haze present this day.

Pre dawn at Crystal Pier on Wrightsville Beach on Tuesday morning. Note: dawn was 6:31 Tuesday morning and this is a long exposure starting at 5:53 lasting 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Still amazing realizing there’s even light at all, but the camera sensor can “collect” it so to speak!! It’s why I always get there well before dawn. Helps “see” what the clouds are doing before sunrise.
