Behold! The Re*****on Portable is functional! This is SUCH a delight to use—I can’t even tell you.

I’m designing a case to carry him in, since he didn’t come with one. That’ll be a great adventure, to be sure!

I absolutely love typing on him, from the feel to the sound. He’s definitely going to be a staple in my writing.

DID I get another machine, unexpectedly, when I went with my wife to the thrift store??? Yes.

Was it the last thing I saw as we went into the checkout line, being disappointed I hadn’t found any machines?? Also, yes.

Is it the cleanest machine I’ve ever found AND was it only $24 dollars? ABSOLUTELY, yes and yes!

This is my first SC Silent, and boy is it amazing! Barely any cosmetic wear and the slugs look like they’ve barely typed a sentence.

I am one lucky guy!

Always cool to get typed correspondence! This cool guy from Spain wrote to thank me about the first online meetup.

It always throws me how much this stuff means to other people, not because I don’t get why, but because I was just looking for some community, myself.

I’m ever thankful for the people that keep showing up to these type-ins and want to be a part of the community.

You make this all worth it.

Mark shares why he’s into and other analog hobbies, during the last online Tappa Tappa. Seems like a familiar story most of us go through. 🙃

Keep up-to-date on the next in-person and online typewriter meetup at tappatappa.com.

Got the drawband replaced and most of the slugs cleaned of old, caked-on ink! I still have to run through another round of slug cleaning, but it’s already so much better!

First image is just after the drawband replacement. Last image is just SOME of the old ink I was able to get off.

There are few things that get me away from reality quite like repairing an old machine.

I picked this up for $15. The drawband is broken and it needs a good cleaning. After that we’ll see if it works as well as I hope. This may be one of my favorite machines (if I can get it working).

Today we said goodbye to our sweetest, sneakiest, and most cuddly little gremlin that’s ever graced us with their time.

She was my copilot. She loved sunshine, blankets, contact, and was endlessly curious.

It’s astonishing how much a little creature can teach you about enjoying the little things. My first reaction to her always getting “in the way” was frustration. After some time I realized she just wanted attention, and to be together. That understanding helped me step back and notice other responses I gave my life.

Though she’s gone she’ll never be forgotten. Looking from the outside you’d say she’s just a cat. But even a cat can touch your heart to impact your life.

Ah, yes. The OG “copy machine”. Put your page in the Line-A-Time and type away!

The gear can make or break the impression with the client but it's really about what the person behind the lens can do with what they have.
