As a newborn photographer, I can confirm that’s terrible advice.

Blink.

Soak it in.

Breathe deeply.

Kiss their forehead one more time.

Memorize the feeling of them in your arms.

And just like that…his senior year is nearing the finish line. 🥹

Brady chose Stillwater for his main session location, which honestly never disappoints. The charm, the textures, the river light tucked between those old buildings…it’s always a favorite. We purposely snagged a weeknight together in hopes of dodging the weekend chaos, and somehow the slower pace made the whole evening feel even more like him.

One of my favorite parts of senior sessions will forever be the conversations in between photos. The walking. The joking around. The little glimpses into who these students are becoming as they stand on the edge of something brand new.

As a former educator, these sessions hit differently for me. There’s something really special about witnessing this season up close…capturing both who they’ve been and who they’re growing into all at once.

After the wraps are folded away, the white noise is turned off, and your sweet baby is back in your arms…this is where I quietly begin preserving it all.

Each image is hand edited with intention and care. Softening tones. Honoring connection. Protecting the feeling of these fleeting first days exactly as they were.

Somewhere along the way, we started letting our most precious memories live inside our phones.

Tucked away in clouds.
Buried in camera rolls.
Stored on hard drives we rarely open.

But these moments?

Tina’s senior year deserved more than a one-size-fits-all session. 🥹

We started outside during golden hour with the dreamiest light wrapping around her, letting things feel relaxed, natural, and fully her. Then later on, we headed into the studio for a completely different vibe — crisp, clean, modern, and honestly SO fun.

And I think that’s what I love most about senior sessions lately.

They’ve become so much more intentional.

Less “show up and smile.”
More who are you in this season?

Some seniors want sunset fields and movement.
Some want a clean studio feel with an editorial edge.
Some want both because that combination tells their story best.

I get to witness the becoming 🥹

From sleepy newborn stretches…
to gummy six month smiles…
to wobbly standing feet and frosting covered fingers at one year old 🤍

This precious baby’s story was documented from newborn, to 6 months, to 12 months… and truly, what a beautiful year it was together.

There is something so emotional about watching tiny features slowly change while familiar expressions begin to bloom. Parents grow, too. Confidence settles in. Rhythm forms. Love deepens in the quietest ways.

Joining the First Year Collective ensures these fleeting milestones are intentionally preserved instead of becoming seasons we wish we had slowed down enough to remember.

This session had my heart melting 🥹❤️✝️

It’s always a joy and an honor to serve the siblings of my best friends… but this connection felt extra sweet. This mama to be is a former college friend, and even though our paths didn’t cross often back then, coming back around 18 years later felt so special.

Maternity sessions hold a kind of quiet magic. Seeing baby move and kick, and watching a mama’s expression as she feels it all in real time… it’s the kind of moment that lingers. One I’ll never forget.

And mamas… this is your reminder to be cared for, too. My signature sessions include hair and makeup with one of my incredible artists, creating space for a slow, intentional start to your session. It sets the tone for everything that follows.

This precious family walked in with that quiet kind of love you can feel before a single word is spoken.

Yes, there was guidance. Hands placed gently.
Little bodies tucked in close. A rhythm to it all.

But what unfolds inside those moments is real.
The way she looks at her babies. The way he holds his family. The way love settles in, even when I’m softly directing it.
