Nature has a way of making you slow down and see life from different angles. Forgive me for geeking out and straying from my typical owls eagles and songbird footage. Snail crossing with a little iPhone vs Sony camera equipment comparison for added intrigue 🥸

Goldfinches and their nesting chicks are thriving in the shoreline grasses that have followed the mass tree loss at Radnor Lake State park and Middle Tennessee: New life after the devastation. Baby birds everywhere right now!

Update: great blue herons at Radnor Lake state park, Nashville. After the rookery was raided, the herons departed for nearly a month with a few returning to the west end of the lake. I saw 1 heron come back toward the east side pond only to be attacked by a snapping turtle. Yesterday I hiked the lake and counted 6 healthy great blue herons and 3 green herons. 2 at the pond and 4 on the west side. It’s good to see them returning.

A very relatable annoyance across species. Baby barred owlet is startled from a dusk nap at Radnor Lake State Park in Nashville.

Barred owlets bobbing their heads to triangulate and map out distances and pinpoint sounds… or old souls jamming to old tunes.

I take pride in not interfering with the owl routines. I have learned, they will show you so many beautiful and behavioral moments if you give them space.
