Honoring a life and legacy of service. Yes, there are political implications, but more importantly, Ruth Bader Ginsberg showed us how to work and fight for what you believe in, how to be impeccable with your word, and how to love and respect others despite intense differences in opinion. (And a few other fun lessons, such as great things come in small packages, do push-ups every day, and drink the wine - even if it makes you fall asleep during an important function!) To celebrate, I took part in Fungi Day and had the opportunity to learn from my fellow Greener grad, mycologist Paul Stamets. Please check out the film Fantastic Fungi - it is beautiful, mind blowing, and absolutely full of hope for our Planet!

I have mixed emotions about the sharing of senior portraits. Of course, I love seeing everyone- especially those with insanely big hair and other hilarious styles of decades past. And I do get the sentiment... Class of 2020, we see you. We remember these amazing times in our own lives, and are so very sorry you won’t be able to celebrate your accomplishments in the same way.

When I was a senior, a friend’s mom arranged this shoot with a professional photographer. She was an independent artist who I had known most of my childhood - she was definitely an inspiration in my career. If you know me, you know my passion is about equally split between photography and giving back. I thrive when I find opportunities to combine those interests and use my photography to serve. In the midst of all of this, of course I’m planning a fundraiser. I plan to do a day of “BFF Portraits” as soon as we’re able to gather our friends together again. And, I’d also like to add a separate day that’s all about the class of 2020 - high school or college. When we get the green light to hug our friends again, I will set up the details. I’d love to help graduating besties commemorate their amazing times together in some small way.

For now, sending out love to all those graduating and their families. And also sending some love out to my high school friends all over the country - those pictured as well as the many who aren’t. 💓

PS. Does anyone else think it’s weird that my hair is exactly the same in this picture as it is today??
PPS. I’d totally still wear that dress if I had it!

Weddings in the time of !

Sending love to all who are having to postpone weddings and events, and to all of my fellow vendors who will be impacted. I’m grateful this sweet couple was able to hold their wedding last week, even if in a slightly scaled back way. I absolutely believe we must come together by staying apart ❤️
