A family I’ve gotten the privilege to watch grow up from behind my lens.🥹

One of the sweetest gifts of spending year after year with families is we naturally grow this unspeakable bond… where we both just know how each other works. I know how their family interacts and they know how I shoot and it always makes for the most blissful process together.

Watching kids grow, catching up, creating together… it becomes something so much deeper each time.

Something so rare I get to be a part of and after all these years it only feels more special.

stranger session series ~ part 6♥️

What started as a little idea with maddie + I on the beach one afternoon turned into something none of us could have ever imagined…

A stranger photoshoot turned into a night for them that lasted until 2 AM. Meeting her mom + sister. Then the sweetest bond of noah and maddie’s little sister. Flowers sent from states away. To talking all day every day.🤭

And somehow, millions of you fell in love with this story right alongside us.🥹

The sweetest + most wild part has been watching two complete strangers become something familiar. Watching a connection grow long after my camera was put away.

Since everyone is asking— the current update is that Maddie is headed back to college so soon. Though, she dreams of moving here after she graduates. But as for right now they’re in different states… talking all day long with hopes to find their way back to each other this fall.

… And I think that’s where we leave them for now.🥲 Let them see where this once in a lifetime thing goes. Maybe I’ll get to share little pieces of it with you all as they allow.

For now, I’m just really grateful I got to capture the very beginning of something special. And to think it’s only just begun.🤍

stranger session series ~ part 5♥️

After the shoot mostly wrapped up, I headed back to my car to pack up + let them hang a little longer alone since I quickly became the 3rd wheel.🙃

Whipped out my phone last minute to grab this little mini convo after they walked back and so glad I did.☺️

Part 6: Will be the final post and will be filled with a little bit of it all + I will most likely be opening up questions on my story the day it is posted if that is something y’all are interested in— so keep a look out for that!♥️ Thank you guys for all the love for this series🥹, it’s been so much to put together.

stranger session series ~ part 4♥️

Not only were they willing to meet a complete stranger and see what happened, but they were also so willing to create art and just be creative together.

It was a poetic flow of being totally trusting + free.

Connection is something I’ve always been deeply drawn to, but the art of the complete unknowing in this situation and their eagerness to just live in the moment was something I’ve never quite experienced before.

I can’t wait to share more of these photos. It was so wild and fun to do something completely out of the ordinary and all walk away knowing it was something special.

We took a sweet little video at the end of them talking together, let me know if that is something y’all would like to see!!

Two strangers.
And somehow, this became a story.🤭

You literally never know what can happen putting two complete strangers together. Even from two totally different states. None of us really knew what to expect, but came willing to see and we all left with so much more.

The art of connection ~ in a whole new way.

Will finally be sharing their photos next + I’m not going to lie, we created some of my most favorite art ever together.🥲

☕️ Early morning downtown Wilmington in-home session story with this sweet family. All the pj cuddles, baby rolls, strolls down their street, kitchen sink bath— the absolute coziest. I’ll never tire of getting to drop in the middle of people’s every day stories and live a little life with them for a moment in time. It really is the most unique experience and I’m so grateful for the families that trust me to do so.🥹

My heart for genuine documentary has only grown deeper with time away from this app. Spent so much time this year reflecting on what it really means to get to know the heart of the families I have the honor to document. What it means to honor their connection and tell it in a way that only speaks to them. I can’t wait to share as I slowly come back to this little corner of the world.♥️
