CieMonster Studio Painter ~ Florist ~ Photographer ~ Artist ~ Creator ~ Landscaper ~ Event Planner Hello & welcome! My photos are $5/each and the paintings start at $10.

I want to introduce myself, my name is Ciemantha (pronounced Samantha 😁 don’t worry) Kosechata (I’ll help you with this one in person lol…. It’s Comanche and means Buffalo Eater) and I’m a local florist and artist/photographer. I currently run a pop up flower shop Friday through Sundays in front of my home/art studio at I-35 & Pennway in the Westside/Crossroads area. A year ago I started selling f

lowers to catch up on rent from not working during quarantine and through time I’ve slowly expanded so now along with the flowers I sell my photography & paintings. I also set up a table where you can make your own bracelets which seems to be a hit. I have a lot of sidewalk space so I always set out a tub of chalk and encourage everyone to be creative and leave their mark. This has been a lot of fun for the neighborhood, a great way for me to meet my community and a fun way to pass the time when I’m not busy. I set out my flowers all individually and encourage everyone who stops to be involved in making their own bouquet. I try to make my shop a fun and creative interactive experience. I encourage everyone I meet to give it a try and I always ask them to tell me about themselves and also what the flowers are for to make sure they get exactly what they need, if I’m able. I sell the flowers at $1/stem and I have vases available for $2. I have no desire to get rich, all I want is to spread happiness so no matter where the flowers are going, even to something sad like a funeral or a sick friend, they are an instrument of cheer. I never want anyone who walks up and shows interest in something to leave empty handed because they can’t afford it so I do my best to make everything affordable. Monday through Thursday I’m available for floral pick up and delivery as well as landscaping & odd jobs. My friends call me the love child of Pocahontas and McGyver and nothing that’s ever felt so true šŸ˜‚. My dream is to one day open an arts focused community center so any money I make extra after paying my bills each month is what I’m saving to make that happen. I know it’s going to happen, I’m not sure how, but that’s not for me to worry about, the universe is taking care of that for me. I have my master’s in counseling and a degree in religion, I have been many many things, a social worker, nanny, server, I was in marketing for a while, an insurance adjuster, an insurance salesman (worst job ever), I have worked campaigning during election season, I cared for disabled individuals, I delivered pizza literally all over this city. I didn’t grow up being told I could do anything, I grew up with parents who were indifferent, so I also didn’t grow up being told I couldn’t. I raised myself and I’ve never known what I wanted to grow into, other than a good person, until now. I’m meant to sell flowers, I’m meant to sell my art & photography, I’m meant to give out my card and try to be of service for anyone who asks. I come from a very long line of native people who desired to improve not only their lives but the lives of all those around them. I just went on an extremely long digression in an attempt to explain who I am and what I’m about so thanks for sticking with me. :)

I hope if you ever need flowers, or a gift or something to bring cheer, if you ever need help, if you’re ever looking for something to do or someone to talk to or just someone to sit and not be alone with, I hope you’ll stop by to see me. They’re always an extra chair saved just for you. Sincerely-
Ciemantha

Ok I’m bursting to tell everyone so here goes!

First thing this morning on Instagram I got a message asking if I would show some of my art work for an upcoming 3rd Friday gallery event called Street Art: a collection of pieces inspired by graffiti-style artwork. Street Art highlights the social influence of a community and draws inspiration from its people.

Holy crap. Talk about pretty much the coolest way to start the day. I have all kinds of feelings because so many of these paintings I’ve posted as part of my Farewell KC auction have been with me for years, like I was thinking today of when I started some of them and I was still married so that was over five years ago 😜. These paintings have literally been a part of my life (moving around from place to place with 20 halfway finished pieces is silly but hey, I’ve got adhd so duh) so I’m super happy to find homes for them. I have been pushing myself to finish, which is so good for me (almost therapeutic). I did not expect that work would pay off like this.

So if you aren’t busy next Friday April 19th at 7pm, come by 80 Santa Fe Art Gallery to check it out and get your goodbye hugs!!
