A little business owner rant...
Please do not book a date, ask me to work out pricing, payment plans, or discounts to help make a photoshoot happen, and then turn around and put a deposit down with another photographer after we've already spent time discussing your session.
And especially don't accidentally tag me in the photos from the other photographer's shoot. 😬
Listen, everyone has the right to choose the photographer that is best for them. I have absolutely no issue with that. We all have different styles, different prices, and different business models. What I do have an issue with is making someone feel bad for you, asking them to bend over backwards to help, work with your budget, or hold dates for you, only for you to magically be able to afford someone whose prices are significantly higher.
Just be honest from the beginning.
If your heart is set on another photographer, go with them. If you prefer their style, go with them. If that's who you want, that's completely okay! But don't have people rearranging schedules, holding dates, negotiating prices, and trying to help you out just for you to choose someone else after all of that.
As small business owners, our time has value too. The conversations, planning, quotes, and accommodations we make all take time away from our families and other clients.
No hard feelings, just a little disappointed. A little honesty and respect go a long way.
