I will miss this pairing....

The loss of our friend and band mate Marty Sammon leaves a hole in the soul of the Damn Right Blues Band. Marty was a father, a friend to many, and an incredible musician. We’ll always be thankful for the memories and the music we made together. All of our love and prayers go out to Marty’s daughter and his family. We’ll miss you, Marty. - Team BG

I took a short walk through the neighborhood and found many spring flowers in full bloom despite temps being close to 90F for the past several days. Typically Chicago - 40s one day, 90s the next. I think I will leave the winter jacket out a bit longer!

Panoramic view of Twin Ice Arena in Oakbrook circa 1975 or so. The venue was hosting some concerts and the promoter asked me shoot a photo showing the view from the stage to show prospective performers. Not owning a lens wide enough to take in the full view, I did a five image panorama and spliced together in the darkroom. I rephotographed the composite for the final duofold which was 15 inches long.

The project took many hours from start to finish but gave me pretty much unrestricted access for a number of years. Looking back, I could do that same panorama today with my phone in about 10 seconds or a few minutes with my digital camera by shooting wide and cropping or splicing multiple images in photoshop. How far along we have come!
