"The House of God"
π‘Personal thoughts on the photo -
(this will be a little long but insightful I think)
I really think getting a drone was one of the best things I've ever done for my photography. I'll be honest with everyone; I'm basically a Macro photographer at this point. Aside from the photos you all see from my drone, it's Macro work that I'm limited in being able to do. The landscape photographs I post are old, some several years old at that. They've sat on my external hard drives for years, completely untouched. And I keep finding more. 10s of thousands untouched landscape & wildlife images lol Ya, I have my work cut out for me, eh? lol π
I've also been able to find & discover new subject matter with my drone. Granted, most of it is urban but I got my start doing street photography, hotrods, pinups, & covering the rockabilly scene in Denver for many years before I ever got into nature photography. Houses of Worship have always fascinated me. Architecture can vary so much & I've been very blessed having lived in Germany for several years & photographing very famous church's like the Cologne Cathedral. (Now THAT is mind blowing!)
This little church is very close, across the street literally. It's a very small congregation of a very old Christian church called "Romanian Orthodox Church St John The Romanian", who happens to have a page π https://www.facebook.com/stjohnthehozevitedenver
I understand the exposure here is quite "strong". That's intentional. It was some very powerful golden hour sunset light so I decided to HDR this one as I don't have filters for my drone yet. I wanted that light to be over-powering because it represents, well, God after all. There's some really great symbolism with that happening so I immediately knew what I needed to do.
Fun times! π
