A few sneak peaks of the sweetest intimate ceremony on Saturday And yes, I couldn't decide which pulled back image of the field to post because I just love them all so much!

Gonna be honest, sometimes captioning these precious wedding days is extremely hard. I know I can always mention the weather, location, etc.

But sometimes that just isn't enough for the sweetness of a couple. The way they allow a day to unfold. How they recognize what is "them" as a couple and what is not. Like understanding that your groom would do better not having the first look photographed and surprising him with it just being you two.
Not having extreme expectations on how people are going to act, what the photographs turn out like..... all that matters is getting married and having FUN.

That way of allowing the day to reveal itself is so beautiful and rare these days. Jessie and Toby did just that. They weren't hung up on any fleeting detail of this world. They just allowed their love and peace to set the tone and it was pure joy to witness.

Hi Friends, I hope your new year has been off to a great start and your holiday season was filled with His presence. I am really excited about this coming year and more intentional shooting.

Each winter, I try to offer some personality minis and I have a few spots open at the studio Jan 20th. The timeframe would be somewhere between 3-4pm. I'd love to book a few more spots if anyone is interested! :)

DM for more details!

I'm off to shoot my last wedding of the year but I had to share some pretty window shots from last weekends wedding before I go. I'm really thankful for churches that have pretty windows to play around with when the wind is brutally cold outside.

These three weddings between Thanksgiving and Christmas might have been a little chilly, but they sure have been the BEST couples to end 2025 wedding season on!

I couldn't let the weekend slip away without sharing some of the couple portraits of last weekends wedding! This couple were TROOPERS! The wind was extremely cold, but they braved it for some outside the church portraits. I adore older churches and all their special spots for photos.

I just have to say, I adored getting to work with Kaley! She was prepared and on top of things but yet really lived in the moment. But my absolute favorite part was after I showed her a few photos on the back of my camera, her response was "Oh my gosh thats exactly what I was wanting! Just pure timeless classic photos".

There are so many trends coming and going with photography. I just hit my 18th anniversary of doing this job and the first 10 years I really tried to stick with those trends. But then one day I realized, these clients choose their colors for a reason. They choose their venues for a reason. If I don't showcase those exactly the way they are.... then how will they even remember those details?!

Each wedding day holds their own set of special memories and circumstances that is the uniqueness of “their day”. Sometimes it’s things we plan for, other times it’s something out of our control…. Mainly weather.

We always have these visions in our head of the “perfect day”. And more times than not, that just doesn’t happen. It can be incredibly hard to pivot and release those dreams when it’s not something you can know until the week of your wedding. This sweet couple dreamed of an outdoor ceremony in a wide open pasture. It would have been completely them. But leading up to their day the weather was not on their side. Temps dropping over night and extremely gusty winds were the prediction.

When I tell you I prayed and prayed and prayed for a wind break for outdoor photos, I mean it. I knew photos were so important to Desire and I wanted so badly to be able to deliver what she had in her mind. The morning of their day, my second shooter and I drove around desperately trying to find some solid tree lines in the right direction so it would help the wind situation. The Lord was so kind. Right at the church where they were getting ready was the perfect tree line.

All this to say, just a reminder that photos don’t always show the whole story. They are beautiful. They are snapshots of time frozen to be remembered forever. But there is always something behind the curtain that you can’t see. Stress over wind. Sadness over your perfect day going out the door. That special friend or family member that can’t make it.

It’s why it’s so important to hire someone with experience. If you trust your photographer, I encourage you to release all that to them. They will work hard to do everything in their power to get you beautiful images, regardless of location and all the uncontrollable circumstances. Something beautiful happens when we get all those thoughts and emotions out. Kinda throw your hands up in the air so to speak. We let go of our expectations and make space to really appreciate the what is. The photos then become YOUR memories. You can see them for the beautiful treasures they are. Not all the ways you wished they were.

When you drive away. You will be starting your marriage. And whatever happens with all those details and wedding day is just a little snippet in time. Your marriage is the real gift you’re walking away with.

Congratulations Caleb and Desiree! I'll forever be thankful you chose me to capture this insanely special day!

I wish we could have these views without the bitter cold.... in particular the cold wind! But despite that, this summer adoring girl is definitely excited for the fall colors to be back in the next few weeks. When I see the trees start to turn it does excite me! Rest is coming. Slowing down is coming. Being more present and available is coming. I'm thankful the Lord showed us even through His creation, we are designed for a season of reflection and rest.
