If this place looks familiar, there’s a good reason. This stretch of highway in Monument Valley is often called “Forrest Gump Point” — the spot where Forrest stopped running after crossing the country.
But when you stand there in person at sunset, it feels even bigger than the movie moment. The desert goes quiet, the sky starts glowing, and the massive stone monuments rise out of the earth like something timeless.
I waited for the light to hit just right, and for a few minutes the entire valley turned deep red under the evening sky.
Out of all the photos I’ve taken so far, this might be my best one.
Also curious — have you ever driven through Monument Valley, or is it on your bucket list?
