Gray skies were no match for the just-engaged-glow radiating from these two lovebirds last Saturday 💖

After planning for months to do the proposal at a park, the weather threw a curve ball and we had to pivot.

Luckily, we were able to use the covered patio of a family friend. It really was making lemonade out of lemons, because with a little strategic cropping you’d never know we weren’t out in the open.

The lesson here—always make friends with people who have nice backyards. Oh, and don’t let a little rain ruin your parade! ☔️

Sneak peeks from last Saturday!

It was my final shoot of the year, and I can’t think of another couple I’d rather spend it with!

I’ve known the bride since she interned at the studio I used to manage. We worked together on and off for years, until one day I bumped into her in the parking lot of my apartment complex. It was a mutual “what are you doing here?!” moment. Turns out, she was dating my neighbor! Honestly, what are the chances?

To be asked to capture such an important day for a friend and fellow photophile is just such an honor.

I love a surprise proposal 🥹

I’ve noticed more people reaching out about having their proposal photographed recently, and I am 100% here for it.

It seems obvious, it’s the start of your marriage journey. Why would you trust that to an iPhone?! These moments happen in a split second, and a photographer has the experience and equipment needed to capture it beautifully (and unobtrusively).

One thing I enjoy about photographing proposals is the pre-planning. I love helping craft a moment that will feel special and look stunning in the photos. I scout locations, track the sun, snoop around on google street view, and have as many planning calls as it takes to make sure everything will go smoothly.

The end result — core memories, and the images to help frame them.
