Hair client turns photography client! I have been working with this family (mom and daughters) for many, many years doing their hair. When their daughters reached out about wanting to gift their parents a photo session as a Christmas gift... it was GAME ON! Especially since I knew they'd be bringing this little cutie along.

Being able to take this session on in a beautiful spot (though VERY ICEY) during golden hour with this sweet crew... It was an absolute pleasure... and I got some soft puppy pets out of the deal too!

🎄 Merry Christmas from our family 🤍

I’ll be honest—this year doesn’t quite feel like Christmas in the way it usually does for us. The week leading up to the holiday, the stomach bug made its way through our house and hit everyone except me… and then Christmas Eve decided to bring round two for Josh and Kai.

Right now, we’re focusing on getting everyone healthy and keeping things quiet so we can finally enjoy some quality family time without spreading the bug around. Santa was sweet enough to let our elf, Chocolate Chip, stay an extra day or two, and once he thinks we’re truly on the mend, he’ll head back to the North Pole to let Santa know we’re ready for gifts and Christmas cheer.

Even though this season feels a little different, I’m incredibly grateful. Grateful for our family, for slowing down, and for the amazing people I’ve connected with through my photography this year. Your support, trust, and kindness mean more than I can put into words.

In addition to it being my youngest brother’s birthday today (Happy Birthday Jacob), I found out it’s also National Sons Day. So it’s the perfect moment to give a little shout-out to the two little lights of my life: Kai and Sage.

Kai’s imagination is just on another level. He lives in this wonderful little world of his own making, and I hope he never loses that spark. He’s also just so generous and sweet—always wanting to share his little treasures with friends because he thinks it’ll make them happy. He’s a kind and sensitive soul, and I’m so lucky to have him.

And then there’s Sage, our little surprise who completed our family in ways we never expected. He’s our tiny adventurer, our little "Billy goat" who climbs on everything and keeps us all on our toes. He’s wild and silly and absolutely fearless, and even on the tough “toddler days,” I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Watching the bond between my two boys grow is just the sweetest gift.

So here’s to all the sons out there and to my two wonderful boys who make every day an adventure. Happy National Sons Day!
