Happy Arbor Day, you Beautiful Green Witches 🌿

This was this week’s assignment inside Photo Club… and yes—
even professional photographers need help being on the other side of the camera.

It’s so easy for me to guide other women into feeling comfortable, confident, seen…
and then I turn the camera on myself and suddenly I forget everything I know.

So I joined Photo Club by Lisa Haukom to push myself.
To show up.
To create images of myself that feel honest—even when it’s uncomfortable.

And honestly? It’s been so good for me.
It’s a supportive, fun group—and if you’ve ever wanted to explore your creativity (or just exist in front of the camera a little more)… I highly recommend it.

Last week, I was invited by Linda Solotaire to share my work at her Chicago Women in Art Event.

And something shifted.

It wasn’t just an event.
It was a reminder.

That women don’t age out of creativity.
We grow into it.

This is why I do what I do.

Through my 50 Over 50 project…
Through my photography…
Through the work I’m creating…

I’m here to make sure women are seen.

Not later.
Not someday.

Now.

This is just the beginning.

Meet Linda Solotaire — jazz vocalist, teaching artist, educator, and founder of True Muse Arts

Linda created the Second Sunday Salon, an intimate gathering where music, storytelling, visual art, and community come together in one space. The salon invites audiences to participate in the creative experience rather than simply observe it.

I photographed Linda as part of my Women 50+ Portrait Series, a body of work celebrating women whose voices, creativity, and presence continue to grow stronger with time.
