Finishing out World Breastfeeding Week with a milk bath throwback!

Whether it was one week, one month, or a year or more, breastfeeding is a beautiful act of love, sacrifice, and nourishment.

It’s the late nights, the tired mornings, the time spent giving a little piece of yourself so your baby can grow. It’s choosing to nourish them with your own body, however long that journey may last, and whatever that may look like.

Every drop given is a gift.

To every mother who has breastfed, for however long, and in whatever way you could, what you gave was more than nourishment. You gave comfort, connection, love, and a piece of yourself. And that is something worth celebrating. 🤍

My daughter, Gwennie, has recently become obsessed with “getting married,” so I thought there was no better time to dig out the ol’ wedding gown from ‘14 (thanks to my parents for driving it three hours to me 🤣) and let her play and feel beautiful. She just turned three and I’ve been envisioning this session since I found out we were having a daughter! 🥹😭
This was so fun for us both; I HIGHLY suggest doing it!💕

Common questions or concerns from clients when planning for a newborn session:

-my house doesn’t have many windows or good lighting
-my baby is constantly nursing
-I haven’t slept in 8295 years
-my pets are going to be all over you
-my other kids are not going to cooperate
-my house is going to be a disaster

These concerns are all valid. And they all might be true! 🤪 it is a season and I encourage you to embrace it. I promise you, there will be a time when you think back at the messy house, or your tired and milk covered body, and long for those days with your snuggly newborn back.

Don’t ask me how I know. 😭

A few weeks ago I shared Baby Lottie’s intimate in-home newborn session + extended family with her maternal grandparents who were visiting from New York. For part two featuring her paternal grandparents, also visiting from New York, we opted for an outdoor session at Fallen Willow Farm, which was absolutely perfect! Thank you to Caroline for allowing us to use your beautiful property 🪻🌦️ an adorable baby, sweet family, gorgeous farm, and stormy skies made the best combination!
