Let’s talk Newborn posing.

Newborn photography isn’t just about cute poses. It’s about safety, patience, and skill in every single session.

Working with brand-new babies requires:

*Deep understanding of newborn safety and physiology
*Proper posing techniques that support airway and circulation
*Patience to follow baby’s cues — never forcing a pose
*A calm, controlled environment designed just for them

Every image you see is created with baby’s comfort and safety as the absolute priority.

Training, experience, and ongoing education matter. Your baby deserves someone who knows not only how to pose — but how to protect.

If you are new to newborn photography I encourage you to find a mentor to follow and learn from. There are wonderful classes online but it is best to learn with hands on practice…with guidance and supervision.

Many of the beautiful “perfectly posed” newborn images you see are actually created using a technique called composite photography. This means we take multiple images with a parent or spotter safely supporting your baby at all times, and then carefully edit those images together to create the final portrait.

What does this mean for you and your baby?

• Your baby is never left unsupported
• We never force a pose that isn’t natural or comfortable
• Every image is created with gentle handling and patience
• The final result is a safe, polished piece of art.

This little one made me work hard during our session. She was not a fan of being touched and was a very light sleeper but after lots of patience and calm energy we got some beautiful images her parents will cherish forever.
