Some of the most meaningful photographs I’ve ever taken will never live on social media.

And that’s perfectly okay.

When a couple trusts me to document their wedding day, they’re inviting me into one of the most personal and emotional days of their lives. The quiet moments with parents, tears during vows, the way their hands find each other when no one else is looking.

Those moments aren’t created for Instagram. They don’t need an audience, views, or likes to hold meaning. They aren’t created to fill egos or chase clout. They are created for you.

While I’m always grateful to share pieces of the stories I photograph, I will always respect when a couple prefers to keep their memories private. Your comfort and trust will always matter more to me than building a portfolio or posting online.

Some of the most beautiful weddings I’ve documented will never be seen here. They live quietly in albums, framed on walls, or resting on coffee tables in the homes they belong to.

Because photographs were never meant to just be content, they are pieces of a family’s history.

And honestly, that’s exactly where they should be. 🤍

Marj first reached out in July to book an engagement session after proposing to Mal, and within minutes of scrolling their profiles I realized… I knew these two. Mallory had been a bridesmaid for my past bride, Erin! I still remember watching her and Marj on the dance floor that night, completely lost in each other. Their connection was unmistakable, and the idea of photographing their love story made me instantly excited.

A few weeks after booking the session, I got another message from Marj asking if I was available for their wedding date. 💃🏼 My whole heart said YES.

I was so honored then, and I am still so honored now.

Then September came with the sweetest surprise. Mal reached out and told me she wanted to propose back during their session, if the ring arrived in time. My heart melted. Of course I said yes.

Fast forward to October. The ring was in. The plan was set. And even though I do this for a living, the nerves? They were real. When I met them in the parking lot that day, Mal slipped the ring box into my hands as we walked toward the beach. It even got caught in her sleeve for a moment, and I swear time stopped. But somehow, in the softest, most delicate way, the universe let it happen.

I started the session with a simple, classic pose, letting us all settle in. Then I suggested a playful prompt: stand back-to-back, hold up a number of fingers and guess the number. In that moment, I walked towards Mal and said, “Let me fix your hair” and passed the ring back to her. The wind was wild and dramatic, the kind of wind that makes everything feel like a movie and it completely worked in our favor.

We continued on, and I could tell Marj was trying to make sense of my little game. But then she turned around.

And I watched it happen.
The surprise.
The emotion rising all at once.
The love, the joy, the disbelief that this moment was actually for her.

It was pure magic — the kind of magic you can’t pose or recreate.

My favorite part? When Marj looked at the ring and said:

“This is the nicest thing I own.”

I don’t think I’ll ever forget this day ❤️‍🔥
