This stuff is getting out of hand. Actually, it's already there and the pirates and cowboys among us are going to get someone killed. And then we'll all WISH we only had to comply with Part 107 rules. Every commercial pilot out there owes it to themselves and our industry to figure out how to reign these people in. In my own state, LifeFlight of Maine had two encounters just last week -- one drone at 1,200 feet and another at 1,600 feet. There is just no excuse for this. Anyone have any ideas?
The drone hit the JetBlue plane right above the cockpit and at about 3,000 feet, according to the pilot.
