Tioga County flower macro. I got creative with colors and effects in Lightroom during editing. Sometimes you just have to spin the color wheel and see where it lands ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๐Ÿ–ผ

It's impossible to capture the beauty and individuality of each one of these amazing birds with a camera. You really have to experience them in person and see how different their personalities and dispositions are from one to the next. They have brains the size of a nut, however- "when it comes to intelligence what really matters is the density of neurons...Corvids and parrots have probably twice as many neurons in their brains as primate brains of the same size. And about four times as many neurons as mammal brains of the same size...And another thing that really matters in intelligence is the connection between neurons. And in that way, bird brains resemble ours in many ways. Theyโ€™re wired together in complex pathways just as our brains are."- Jennifer Ackerman, Author

I love black and white pictures. Going black and white in photography can sometimes give a picture more depth and feeling. More emotion comes through somehow. Like magic ๐Ÿช„๐ŸŽฉโœจ๏ธSometimes I also prefer pictures that are taken from behind. Some people will look at these 2 shots and say, "why are you taking pictures of the back of their heads?" For me, capturing a moment isn't always about posing and smiling for the camera. I've actually found that I prefer NOT asking people to pose unless we've got a set lined up that requires posing. My smoke bomb pics for example. Those require some creative timing and model placement. However for me, the majority of the time (*Not ALL the time), its about capturing **authentic** moments. So, here you see the back of heads ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I didn't want to interrupt the sacred moments being shared in these two pictures. I wanted to capture it as it was unfolding in front of me, as authentically as possible. What I saw in this moment were 2 children, my grandchildren, brother and sister, staring out into the river together. They're sharing a moment of contentment, quiet and literal and figurative reflection. The 2nd picture is my stepdaughter, a new mom, sitting with her son. Same day, same river, and same general time, staring out into the river together. They're sharing a moment of contentment, quiet and literal and figurative reflection. I will never get those fleeting moments back but I've captured them, like magic ๐Ÿช„๐ŸŽฉโœจ๏ธAnd these pictures will be here long after I'm gone. That's why I take pictures after all- to hold onto moments like this forever
