Unpopular opinion: I will take personality over posed any day👌🏼 I know you want some for your wall. And don’t worry… I’ll get them! But you KNOW I’m including those personality pictures too😊
Remember when your teenager didn’t want to smile… but he did want to put his arm on your head? Yep. Got that shot. Remember when your toddler wouldn’t put down the stick? I got that too.
And in a few years, when your teenager is out of the house, you’ll love that picture of him putting his arm on your head and you giving him a look.
And in a few years, when that toddler is a teenager, you’ll see just how magical that stick was too✨
So yes… I’ll take the personality every time. Because those show the real and the raw. Your life exactly as it is now. And trust me when I say you will want to look back on those ones too🥹

Hunt family✨
Some sessions just feel effortless. Laughs, realness, and so many moments in between. One of the best parts of my jobs is getting to see the connections families have and this was one of those sessions that reminded me why I love what I do🥹

1. You make sure you are smiling/posing/following prompts and I will worry about everyone else! So many times I see parents so worried about kids that they’re the ones not looking at the camera— even when the kiddos DO look. If you look at the camera, I’ll make sure to get one with everyone else doing the same!

2. Let your kids do their thing! They may take a minute to warm up and that’s ok! I can always circle back when they’re more comfortable. But getting on them from the start can push it the opposite way or make the whole session feel forced. I promise we will get some good ones!! Just let it happen naturally!

3. Have. Fun. Sometimes families are so stressed about how it’s going or whether or not everyone is smiling that they forget they are making memories! Family photos are a time where the whole family is together. So be present. Be together. Have fun. Make memories. Let Dad be goofy. Let the teenagers be stubborn for a minute. Let the toddler hold the toy for a minute. Let me capture your life the way it is now. Natural. Candid. THEN the smiles will fall into place🫶🏻

This sweet Mama went into labor the same day as her Mom’s funeral. Both too soon. There aren’t words for either of those things. But what I can say is the love & tenderness I felt in this hospital room was unmatched. This little guy is so loved.
Fresh 48s are so special and this one will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!
So honored to capture these moments. Whether they’re real, raw, vulnerable, sad, happy, or all at once… they deserve to be documented❤️‍🩹

Before they hold a spoon.
Before they reach for your hand to cross the street.
Before they wave goodbye on the first day of school.
They fit perfectly in the palm of your hand.

These tiny fingers will grow, but today they’re wrapped around yours…the safest place they’ve ever known.

Sometimes the most meaningful photos aren’t the big moments. They’re the quiet ones. The way your hands instinctively reach for them. The way they already know your touch.

One day, these little hands won’t be so little anymore. So we all just hold their little fingers in the meantime. And documenting that is one of the most beautiful things✨
