The Seagull Nebula drifting through a truly dark sky.
Captured under pristine Bortle 1 conditions, this widefield view shows the delicate hydrogen clouds and dark dust lanes that give IC 2177 its signature shape. Even with a simple UV/IR cut filter, the depth and structure really come alive with enough integration time.

✨ Messier 78 – The Blue Reflection Nebula ✨
Captured tonight using my RASA 11” paired with the FG80 friction mount. This part of Orion is full of dust, reflection light, and subtle structure that I’ve always wanted to chase — finally got the chance tonight.

The mix of deep blues, dark lanes, and that soft glow around the young stars makes this region feel alive. Shot under a clean Texas sky, and I’m really happy with how the details came out.

🌹 The Rosette Nebula – A Cosmic Bloom

Just wrapped up this shot of the Rosette Nebula using the RASA 11 and the FG80 friction mount. This region always blows me away — a massive star-forming cloud sitting 5,000 light-years out in Monoceros, glowing with intricate dust lanes and that iconic floral shape.

The fast f/2 system pulled in crazy detail and tons of faint structure way quicker than I expected. Every time I grab this target, I’m reminded how wild it is that this giant “rose” is actually a nebula sculpted by young hot stars blasting the gas from the inside out.

Swipe to see the close-ups and the full frame.
Let me know what you think!

✨ The Helix Nebula – The Eye of God ✨
Shot last night using my RASA 11”, UV/IR cut filter, and the FG80 friction mount under dark Texas skies.

This one always feels special — a dying star blowing off its outer layers, floating 650 light years away… and somehow we get to capture it from our backyard universe. The colors, the structure, the faint outer halo — absolutely worth every minute of data.

Loving how the RASA pulls out those delicate filaments. 🌌

Behold the mesmerizing Triangulum Galaxy (M33) in all its natural glory! 🌌 Captured under the pristine Bortle 1 skies of Rockwood, TX at Starfront Observatories, this deep sky stunner reveals swirling arms of stars, dust, and nebulae like you’ve never seen. Shot with my trusty Celestron RASA 11” telescope, ZWO 6200MC Pro camera, and a UV/IR cut filter for that crisp, true-color edit. Rock-solid stability courtesy of the Twinstar FG80 friction mount – no vibrations, just pure cosmic magic! 💫

🔥 Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) 🔥
Captured two nights ago with the RASA 11 from Bortle-1 skies — fast-moving, icy visitor with that beautiful soft green coma and a hint of tail structure starting to form. Always surreal catching something flying through our solar system in real time. 🌌✨

The Rotten Fish Nebula (IC 1795)
Captured with my RASA 11” f/2.2 and UV/IR cut filter using a full-frame color camera under Bortle 1 skies at Starfront Observatories, Texas.

This one’s made up of over 100 subs at 600 seconds each — totaling more than 16.5 hours of integration time.
Unlike bright emission regions, this nebula is mostly dust — faint, textured, and subtle. It’s the kind of target that doesn’t stand out right away, but the more time you spend on it, the more layers of structure appear.

Sometimes the quiet ones end up being the most beautiful.

✨ The Pleiades Star Cluster (M45) ✨
Captured with my RASA 11” under pristine skies — 6.5 hours of integration using a UV/IR filter. This one’s special — my first time ever shooting the Pleiades, and I’m blown away by the delicate blue nebulosity surrounding the cluster. Easily one of my favorite wide-field targets so far. 💙

And the IFN surround the cluster. Easily one of my favorite wide-field targets so far. 💙
