"Chaotic Bliss"πŸŒ¨οΈβ˜ƒοΈ

My apologies for the lack of posts recently! I have been extremely busy with my school work and personal life.

This photo was taken very recently (December 2017) during an annual trip that my father and I took up to the Seely Swan Valley to stay in our absolute favorite forest service cabin. While there, it had snowed 36 inches within the span of two days. This is as much snow as I have ever seen fall in such a small amount of time. On our last day, we drove by this spot on our way back to the cabin from a short day hike. At the time, the snow was coming down sideways and I knew that I would have to wait until the snow stopped to get an acceptable photo. We decided to head back to the cabin just for a few hours until there was a break in the storm. As soon as I started to see the snow fall thinning, I knew that it was time to go to this spot, but it needed to happen fast before the next big fall of snow happened. I rushed through chest deep snow to get to the place where I set up my tripod. As my father looked upon me from the truck, I realized that I could be standing on very thin ice over the river and not even know it. However, I could not pass up this opportunity. The stillness of the river and the reflection was just too perfect. Anything to get a good photo, right? πŸ‘

"Golden Hour" πŸŒ„β›ͺ

This photo, taken off of Montana HW-287, was not planned whatsoever. I was on my way home to Helena from Bozeman to visit family. I have taken this drive hundreds of times and my favorite part of the trip never fails to be driving past the Rose Wedding Chapel. I thought that this drive was going to be like the rest and I was just going to enjoy the church for a brief moment while driving by. However, on this particular evening something told me that I needed to pull over at the church and really take in the landscape and be in the moment. Not even five minutes after I pulled over I noticed that the sun was starting to peek through the clouds and that light streaks began to appear against the sky. I quickly ran to my car and set up my camera so I could capture this moment of serenity. By the time I was back in my car the light streaks had faded and the sun was covered by clouds again. I truly believe that listening to your instincts has its advantages.

Thank you all so much for the support! Almost 400 likes in only a couple of days. Let's keep it up!πŸ‘

"Taking in the View"

Wet and snowy today in Bozeman. On this cold Montana day I am thinking about the warmth of summer and the new places to explore and bask in the warm weather, just like this goat enjoying the view atop Hidden Lake Lookout. Scenes like this will never get old, even to animals who live within the landscape. Where is your favorite place to take in the moment?πŸ”οΈ
