Northern Exposure Photography | Capturing Life in the Green Mountains

We are a Vermont-based photography duo specializing in heartfelt, natural-light portraiture. Formerly operating under a different name, we transitioned to Northern Exposure in 2026 to better represent our vision: clean, authentic, and professionally crafted imagery. What we focus on:
- Portraits: Families, couples, and individ

uals.
- Natural Light: Utilizing the best of Vermont’s atmosphere.
- Authentic Storytelling: Capturing the "in-between" moments that matter most. Let’s create something beautiful together.

Sometimes you have to revisit the past. ✨

I love looking back at old photos and realizing, "Yeah, I can do this better now." It’s a reminder that we’re never truly "finished"—we’re just constantly improving.

That’s the beauty of growth. Whether it’s a photo edit or a life chapter, it’s never too late to take what you have and make it even brighter. This one feels a whole lot clearer today.

They say your first 10,000 photos are your worst. While I’m glad those are behind me, I love looking back at where I started.

Sometimes, "re-editing" is the best way to honor the journey. It’s taking what you had then and making it better with what you know now. Whether it’s a RAW file or a life chapter, it’s never too late to change the tone, fix the balance, and find the light. 🌲📷

Peep the before and after photo below and tell us which one is your favorite.

There is something so special about capturing the bond between a mother and her daughter, especially when there’s a little snow on the ground! We had the best time during this winter mini session, embracing the cold with warm hugs and lots of laughs. From cozying up in a snowflake blanket to finding a bit of magic in the barn, these two were absolute naturals in front of the camera. It’s moments like these—the crinkled noses, the tight squeezes, and the pure joy of childhood—that make my job so rewarding. 🤍

Winter minis are such a fun way to capture beautiful memories for your family. Whether it’s for a holiday card or just because, these moments deserve to be frozen in time.

Are you ready to capture your own winter magic? I still have a few limited spots left for the season! Comment "WINTER" below or send me a DM to grab your time slot before they're gone! 📸👇

Love of Photography

I’ve been asked more times than I can count why I love taking photos of people or objects. To me, it’s a way of capturing a moment for a lifetime, not just jotting it down or remembering the moment in your mind. No, it’s about taking a photo of something that you’re going to be able to look at day after day for the rest of your life and so forth and so on.

This photo might just capture some woman to you, but to me that’s my grandmother. This photo yes, has a story behind it. This is one of the very last photos I have of her especially one of her smiling. Why; because 20 days after this photo was captured I lost her to pancreatic cancer. Yet, you couldn’t even tell that she was sick. She smiled and was enjoying time with her family.

Now, what you don’t see in this photo... is my family realizing that this could very well be the last (and it was) Christmas we would share with her. She was in the hospital when this photo was taken. We filled a conference room with gifts and a make-shift Christmas tree, just to be together with her for one last holiday. This photo captures her smiling, which we didn’t get to see that often after this photo.

This photo, might bring tears to my eyes because I realize that it was one of the very last moments, that she was really herself. It also captured her enjoying her day and her family. This photo will last forever and so will the memories behind the photo good and bad. She had a good day this day and that’s what I will remember, she was smiling like she always did when we were together as a family. If I could do it all over again, I would try to capture the same moment and smile again because this is the way I remember my grandmother before her illness.
