Oconaluftee islands park located in Cherokee, NC is a nice park to stop walk around and enjoy the view after shopping down at the towns local shops. This also makes a lovely park to stop off and have a quick picnic with the family. It definitely adds a calm tone to this bustling little town.

Bridal veil falls located in Highlands, NC and part of the beautiful and highly recommended Nantahala National Forest. This is a great place to stop off on your road trip and see a small waterfall on the side of the road. Located right down the road from another set of falls. This is a popular spot to stop off, step out, and enjoy a quick view.

There is something about Mingus Mill that sits along the Great Smoky Mountain National Park that just makes it a must stop destination along your trip through the park way. It is always an enjoyable experience and a great spot to stop stretch your legs and learn more about the area.
