How I help families feel at ease during their photo session PART 3:

3️⃣ SET EXPECTATIONS BEFORE THE SESSION

Before our session I set the stage and set their expectations for what the session is going to be like. I am an over-explainer, and this is one of those times when being an over-explainer is beneficial to both me and my clients.

I get social anxiety when I go into an unfamiliar situation - and for most people, a photo session creates some anxiety.
I want to reduce this pressure for my clients by setting the stage and explaining my process to them beforehand. I share as much information as I can so they know what to expect.

They feel a relief from the weight of wondering what it's going to be like, and they're able to focus on the most important part of the photo session - connecting with each other and having a fun time together!

An insider's look into working with me for your newborn photos...part 1!
☝🏻 The first step is reaching out with your due date! I will send you all the details on the newborn photography experience with me, from what to expect, to prices, and how to reserve your session.

The best time to contact me is in your 2nd trimester of pregnancy to ensure availability near your due date

When you're ready to reserve your photography appointment, your session can be secured with an online retainer fee payment through my online booking system. Your final installment is due the week of your session.

How I help families feel at ease during their photo session PART 2:

2️⃣ BUILDING TRUST BEFOREHAND: GETTING TO KNOW THEM

When a client has seen my photos and reached out to me, I take the time to get to know them and find out more about what they're envisioning for their dream family photos — this is my time to let my expertise shine!
How many kids do they have and what ages? What are their personalities like? What kinds of things do they enjoy doing together? What kind of location do they envision in the background of their photos?

Knowing these kinds of things about a family helps me make personal recommendations based on my expertise. I can now explain to them how I can serve them and meet what they're looking for in a photographer.

Some people won't be a good match for the service I provide, and I'm happy to refer them to a different photographer if what they're looking for doesn't align with what I provide.
