Sometimes the reschedule ends up being the best part of the story, and one thing I refuse to overlook is my client's comfort.

Olivia's senior session was supposed to happen last week, but 100-degree temperatures, Oklahoma wind, and storm chances had other plans. Rather than force it, we waited.

And I'm so glad we did.

Beautiful weather, gorgeous light, and a senior who is as talented and hardworking as they come. Olivia made my job easy from start to finish.

These sneak peeks are some of my favorites, and I can't wait to share them!

A reminder that childhood isn't always neat and tidy. Sometimes it's snacks on the back porch, patriotic sunglasses, scraped knees, and exploring Grandma's backyard.

Little Miss Ella managed to pack all of that into a 30-minute Story Session.

And honestly, that's exactly why I love these sessions.

They're less about perfect poses and more about capturing who your little ones are right now. The favorite accessories. The silly phases. The personalities that seem to change overnight.

Years from now, those are often the photos that mean the most. Because someday the sunglasses will be lost, the scraped knees will heal, and this season of life will be a memory.

I'm just here to help you hold onto it a little longer.

Part Two of the Portrait Planning Guide is here.

Last week we covered spring and summer sessions. This week, we’re diving into fall and winter- arguably the most requested portrait seasons around here.

From golden grass and cozy layers to soft winter light and the occasional Oklahoma snow, these seasons bring a completely different feel to your gallery.

If you’ve been debating when to book senior photos or family pictures, hopefully this helps you figure out what season fits your style best.

And honestly… there’s really no wrong answer. Every season in Northwest Oklahoma brings something beautiful to the table.

Swipe through Part Two of the guide.

I’ll be back in the Tonkawa area June 8–10 and have a few evening session spots available while I’m home visiting family.

The grass is green, the wildflowers are hanging on, and summer sunsets have been pretty solid lately.

If you’ve been wanting senior photos, family pictures, couples photos, or just updated portraits without waiting until fall, now’s a pretty good time, and i'll be around Barnhart Gardens (always a plus)!

As always, all session types are available, but Story Sessions are a great short option: simple 30-minute sessions that are perfect for families, couples, or anyone wanting updated photos without committing to a full session.

One of the biggest questions I get asked is:
“When is the best time to schedule pictures?”

Truthfully… every season brings something completely different to your session.

From wildflowers and green fields to golden grass, colorful fall trees, and cozy winter light, Northwest Oklahoma gives us some pretty incredible backdrops year-round.

So I put together a little portrait planning guide breaking down what each season looks and feels like for sessions.

Part One covers spring and summer sessions, along with some things to consider when planning.

June in Northwest Oklahoma is hard to beat.

The wildflowers are blooming, everything is finally green again, and those long summer evenings make for some pretty incredible photo sessions.

This is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph seniors, families, couples, and all the little in-between moments that deserve to be remembered.

Summer session season is officially here, and honestly… Oklahoma is showing off right now.

There’s something about this time of year in Northwest Oklahoma.

The grass turns green again, the wildflowers start showing off, and suddenly those long summer evenings start feeling a little different.

For the Class of 2027, this is the season where everything starts to shift a little. Senior year is right around the corner, and somehow life starts moving a whole lot faster.

That’s why I love summer senior sessions so much. They feel relaxed, real, and full of all the little in-between moments you’ll want to remember someday.

And honestly… it’s hard to beat Oklahoma when it looks like this.

Class of 2027… your season is here.

One of the biggest questions I get every summer is:
“What should I wear for senior pictures?”

So I put together a quick little guide to help make planning your session a little less stressful and a lot more fun.

Senior photos should feel like you: comfortable, natural, and true to this season of life. Hopefully this helps give you a good starting point as you begin planning outfits, locations, and all the little details.

And honestly? Northwest Oklahoma is showing off right now. The wildflowers are blooming, everything is green, and summer evenings have been incredible lately.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country and our freedom.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we remember those who paid the ultimate price.

As we begin wrapping up the 25–26 school year galleries, this is a friendly reminder that Mooreland school and sports galleries will be archived June 30th to make room for the upcoming school year.

If you’ve been meaning to place an order, download images, or save your favorite sports and school photos, be sure to do so before the galleries are removed from the website archive.

Thank you again for supporting Sandhill Photography, Mooreland Yearbook, and the students and programs that make this community special. It has been an incredible year to capture.
