Obstacles Breach (OB) Photography | Light ’Em Up! ⚡📸

Veteran-Owned | Fort Leonard Wood, MO

I’m Michael Schmitz, the photographer behind OB Photography. This brand was built on years of experience, respect for the people I serve, and a genuine passion for capturing the moments that matter most. Army, attention to detail, preparation and a mission-first mindset became part of who I am. Now I bring

that same focus and attention into every session I capture. I care about giving people images that feel bold, clean, and memorable. Whether I’m lighting up a ballroom, photographing a family milestone, creating senior portraits, documenting a wedding day, or building a professional headshot that elevates your brand, my goal is always the same: make sure you look and feel your best during the entire experience. At OB Photography, I combine thoughtful preparation with studio-quality lighting and a calm, confident approach. I want every session to feel comfortable, enjoyable, and worth remembering.

I've been hit up by a few folks for Saturday prom photos, however my schedule today is full.

Ft. Wood Photography has thier new shop in the Waynesville Square and is doing prom mini-shoots today. Don't let these moments slip by without freezing a few of them into a 5x7 or 8x10 frame! 🖼

I have a few spots left for Prom Minis!

You are also welcome to walk into the studio inside the square! Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

🚨 ENGINEER REGIMENTAL BALL 2026 UPDATE 🚨

I know a lot of people have been waiting on these photos, and I truly appreciate the patience. Processing was completed within 36 hours of the event, resulting in approximately 430 edited images, moving into a 'holding gallery' waiting for review. The unit has requested the images be turned over on a disk for internal screening/release before distribution.

[PROBLEM] How can people get the photographers pictures?
[SOLUTION] My website supports private on-line galleries, so I'll design and distribute postcards with the QR code links to all attendees. It's 2026, we have the tech!
[GOV. LEGAL RED TAPE] (2-weeks later) Nah, we don't like that...

Hoping these moments make their way back to the attendees very soon. 🏰🔥

ENGINEER REGIMENTAL BALL 2026
🚨[UPDATE, 6 MAY:
Team, the original plan was to release images through a private gallery following review. However, I was informed yesterday evening that the images have not yet been cleared for release and will now be submitted on disk for additional review and dissemination.

To the hundreds of attendees who’ve been patiently waiting, I truly apologize and sincerely hope these images find their way back to you soon.]🚨

Photos are looking 🔥
Started with 1,600+ RAW images and narrowed the gallery down to approximately 430 final selects.

🚨 ATTENTION FIGHTIN’ FIFTH 🚨
- 500+ War-FIGHTERS.
- 1 legendary night.
- and we just captured ALL of it. 🔥

The Fighter’s Victory Ball for the 5th Engineer Battalion wasn’t just another event…
It was history. Brotherhood. Legacy. 🏰🥊

I ran a full send operation behind the lens, with the help of MSG Banks, Amanda Schmitz & Jazmyne Lockhart:
• 85 portrait room galleries 📸
• 380+ live event shots 🔥
• Countless moments you’ll want to relive

Every handshake. Every laugh. Every “damn, that was a good night.”

This was the last FLW Ball for the Fightin’ Fifth… and you could feel it.
Different energy. Real pride. No holding back.

If you were there…
You already know.
If you weren’t…
You missed one hell of a night.

❄️ If you’re freezing… so is your dog (maybe). 🐾

Cold weather doesn’t care how tough your pup looks. Even powerful breeds feel the bite when temps drop fast. Knowing when to shorten walks, layer up, or head back inside isn’t “soft”, it’s responsible ownership.

This quick guide breaks down safe outdoor time by temperature so you can keep your dog healthy, mobile, and protected all winter long.
Strong dogs deserve smart handlers.
Stay sharp. Stay warm.

Late December… and this weather showed up like it had something to prove ☀️🍂
Crisp air, warm light, and folks actually getting outside and using it.

This morning’s shoot was a solid reminder that you don’t need spring or summer to make great images. If you step outside, December will absolutely deliver. 📸

Love seeing people take advantage of days like this. More of this energy. Always.

Anyone else taking advantage of this absolutely perfect December weather and getting out to shoot Neon Park? 🌅✨

This was early morning on December 26th, quiet roads, crisp air, and the light building as the neon was still glowing. Dawn down here just hits different when the city hasn’t woken up yet.

No traffic. No noise. Just the hum of the signs, a cold sidewalk, and that first hint of sunrise rolling in.

If you’re local and you’ve never experienced Neon Park at sunrise… you’re missing a whole different side of it.
