North American Beaver.

While I wasn't able to get even a halfway decent picture of him/her out of the water, I watched as it climbed up the embankment and crossed the trail right in front of me. Stopped. Turned around and went back into the water. It swam in circles, we watched each other, and it then headed downstream. This was my first time ever seeing a beaver. Very cool.
