When you ask this question~
Why is it ,that I can make delicious food, but my photo's do not reflect ...just how Amazing it was and how much work I put in to it? They all look like a blended or a melted together experiment.
How we all have been there. Many times its not your cooking at all. There are savory dishes that would benefit from a ( Prep Before You Post ) Method.
Here is an example of a popular dish. (Pizza) It just so happens to be on Naan Bread. Can you spot the prominent ingredient , that ls so much more appealing to the eye before baking?
If you said... spinach, You are correct. I also pre-sautéed the mushrooms, because I like mine a little more cooked.
Although this is ready to be popped in the oven, its still a photo prep. Why? Well you are preparing a post ,by already having at least one photo before finished product.
This is helpful, because ~ after your dish has finished cooking, you may not be able to identify ingredients ( which in itself is not bad) ... but aesthetically you may be disappointed and opt not to take a final photo.
If your adventurous, take prep pictures throughout.
If all else fails, and have not done any of these things ~ Try the zoom method. Get a small amount on a fork or spoon. Set on a white plate for background and use good lighting. Windows are great or go on the patio. Then Blur the background slightly.
If its a sandwich or dessert, than capture the inside and focus on the textures, not just the item as a whole.
One last thing, before u delete, Check your photos. You may have taken a photo, but only one corner of the dish looks Amazing.
Crop it! Many times, those are the best.
