I've got so many projects going on in my head, and in my tiny studio right now.

I'm finally physically at a place to where I can do more, be more...and create more. And that's been a huge positive impact on my mental health. Healing for the past year from that crash last August has been quite the adventure. I'm still healing. But. I'm so, so, so much better now than ever before. I mean, besides the obvious battle dents and scars...I'm doing good.

I've been doing a lot of writing in the past month. Nothing in particular. Just...being human and writing. And that's taken me on a few side quests with my art parts.

Anyway. I'm still here. Doing things.

The part that takes theeee most time in creative junk journaling is accumulating fun junk to journal with. I've got a few different prototypes made for different kinds of journaling, and although they aren't the best, they are worth filling up.

Is all.

Paper. Booklets. Journals.
Junk. Upcycled stationary?!

Either way, I like to look at all of 'em.

Making random things out of ordinary things is oddly satisfying. I definitely made a few doozies. They're in this pile of paper & cardboard. Learning to do something new, and with my hands...has felt very primal. Haha!

The idea is to learn new things while giving myself spaces to do random art parts & really mess up for the sake of exploring.

Cause...side quest(s).

Making more upcycled journals. I want to keep them all. Haha! I'm having a blast actually. And I'm taking my sweet time noodling around because I'm learning so much about the craftsmanship of bookbinding.

And speaking of books...I'm back to collecting them so I can continue my personal stash. I found 2 really beautiful books yesterday. I also scored one full of space photos. And that's exactly what I've needed for my collage stash.

I made this a month or so ago. It really resonates with life in this dystopian world.

196 upcycled envelopes ✉️
handmade from magazine pages.

I definely made over 200. But. Some of those went straight into the trash. It took me a couple of days to find my own groove. I'll be fast the next go round. Glad to be done tho. It's been a week of learning and mass production. I told myself I couldn't abandon this side quest either. I had to see it to completion.

You know you're deep into "junk" art/journaling when you salvage the used butter wrapper because there are no tears or cuts. Yes, I washed it with hot water and soap. I just really love papers and graphic design/printing.

Current side quest status on making an insane amount of upcycled envelopes by hand. I'm almost done. Then, I'll get a count. No templates! I've learned so much about making envelopes that I've unlocked some muscle memory. Haha! Repetition for for the win.
