Rain.
Chaos.
City lights everywhere.

It felt exciting, romantic, wild, and unreal all at once.

Just two people lost in each other while NYC felt like a movie.

okay i can’t stop thinking about this part of weddings!!!

everyone thinks the biggest moment is the aisle. or the vows. or the first kiss.

NOPE.

it’s the 10 seconds before any of that happens.

no music. no cameras in your face. no one pulling your attention in 20 different directions.

just you.

alone.

about to marry the person you love most in the world.

and suddenly your heart gets SO FULL it almost doesn’t feel real.

like your whole body is trying to hold a moment that’s too big for words.

and somehow…

almost nobody photographs it.

which is CRAZY because years later???

THAT is the feeling you’ll want back more than anything.

not the perfect poses. not the fancy details.

THAT quiet breath before everything changes forever.

tell me i’m not the only one obsessed with these hidden little moments.

Georgetown is one of my favorite places in Washington DC for engagement photos because it gives couples so much variety in one walk: cobblestone streets, historic architecture, the C&O Canal, and soft waterfront light.

Javier and Amie’s session had that easy, natural feeling I always look for: real connection, movement, and a neighborhood that quietly adds romance without taking over the story.

It’s wild how quickly a session turns into two people just… being themselves.
