Multi-Media Works, LLC photographed the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Trustee-Board Luncheon this week at the Oceanic, sponsored by South Florida Manufacturing Assn.

Any idea how much help the Office of Economic & Small Business Development offers to small businesses in Broward County?

The director, keynote speaker Maribel Feliciano, gave a comprehensive presentation of the multiple ways and it is impressive.

Pompano Beach Chamber went all Derby for the Fine Food & Wine Festival Saturday evening.
This year the theme coordinated with the Kentucky Derby for an elegant twist on a popular annual event. Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet was presenting sponsor that brought out delicious food and alcohol tastes from local eateries, enticing attendees to experience some new restaurants and drinks. Local musicians and silent auction items rounded out the fun. Held outdoors at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, weather cooperated for a delightful evening and Chamber fundraiser. Happy Passover and Easter from Multi-Media Works, LLC!

Matzos, eggs and lilies. Passover has to do with the hardships that Jews faced when they were enslaved by the Pharoh in Egypt (Let My People Go!). Easter focuses on the death and resurrection of Jesus. In the Old Testament, Moses hastily led the Israelites out of Egypt to the birth of a new nation after the 10 plagues God sent, which the Israelites were spared by marking their doors with lamb blood. The holiday honors the sparing of Israelites to enable their escape to freedom.

The Last Supper of Jesus took place in Jerusalem during a Passover seder celebration with apostles. Both holidays are celebrated around the same time in April, this year the same day. So happy holiday and may freedom ring while life is resurrected during a beautiful Spring.

Yesterday the Pompano Beach State of the City 2026 sold-out presentation luncheon held at the Cultural Center was an eye-opener!

Mayor Rex Hardin outlined in five chapters the impressive vision, progress and plans in the works to make Pompano Beach the pride of Broward County and they are on schedule to succeed.

City pride was in the air by the time the presentation ended with a standing ovation. Multi-Media Works, LLC captured a few pics of attendees and the Mayor.

Dear Friends,
I rarely post personal news online unless it pertains to my video or photography work. Today is an exception. It is with such sadness that I inform you of my husband Ivan's passing on Thursday, March 12 between 5 and 7am at the hospice care center in Boca Raton. He died peacefully in his sleep of heart failure-severe stenosis of the aorta valve. I was at his bedside. His wish was to donate his body to Science Care which was done.

Ivan was admitted to the hospice care center a week earlier for professional attention and pain management he needed that I and health aides could no longer provide at home after four and a half years. I slept in his room at the facility each night knowing the end was near and spent time there assuring him of my presence when he could no longer communicate.

We met 51 years ago (!) in San Francisco, and our lives became a lifelong friendship patchwork woven together, separated, back together again, married, divorced, roommates, then remarried in 2017. In the end, I feel grateful to have been able to keep him comfortable with some quality of life in his final years.

I can say from experience that good caregiving is not unlike producing a video-- the attention to detail, observing every need and making constant creative and detailed adjustments for his comfort. For example, when he was able to get into and out of a car with a walker or from a wheelchair, he needed to grasp the exterior and interior of the car to balance himself. But the car was too hot to touch in summer, so I bought extra-large potholders and that solved the problem.

His son Ivan sent a link to this piece of music that he said his father selected to play on the day he died, it is reminiscent of his dynamic personality. Listen HERE https://youtu.be/TU-w2eIyVyA

I will miss him, a smart, creative, positive man with a dry sense of humor and a booming laugh who never complained and always saw the glass half full. RIP dearest Ivan.
