Stories transport, inspire, and can even transform us, all you need to do is turn the page. (Swipe for the before shot & some behind the scenes peeks. Including a look into our lighting setup, my daughter, Emma, channeling her inner Belle by actually reading between shots, & my husband, Nick, playing around with the props 😂) _____________________________________________________

This shoot was a bit of a challenge. We had to throw the pages around quite a few times before we were able to snag the shot (don’t worry, the book was already falling apart, so we saved it for pages ☺️) & right as I was getting into the swing of things, a lightning storm rolled in. We got the shot just in time to sprint back to the car! I had to run back out for the forgotten tripod while lightning struck around me, but that’s a different story altogether 😅. Most of the pages were captured in one shot, & other pages from different images were added later on. Hope all of you have a beautiful week ♥️ .

Sometimes in life, embracing the storm is the only real way to navigate your way through it. (Swipe for the before image & a video of the process, we created the umbrella from scratch last summer & I bought a few yards of green fabric to wrap around myself so I would resemble a stem 😆) —————————————————————————— ✨This flower umbrella is one of my favorite props to shoot with because our little family created it together one afternoon & we have been using it for photos ever since. It will forever carry a special meaning for me. It’s funny how something as silly as a prop made from an old umbrella can hold such a beautiful memory. Do you have something that holds a special meaning for you? .
