Perfect hair is forgettable.
This kind of childhood magic? Never.

Because the moments you’ll treasure most won’t be the perfectly-posed ones.

They’ll be the bandaids from playground adventures, the rain boots with pajamas, the donut-sticky smiles, the twirls in the hallway and the jump-on-the-bed giggles.

When your kids are free to be exactly who they are — messy, joyful, imaginative, full of life — that’s when the real magic happens.

And one day, you’ll look back and feel it all again:

The sound of tiny feet racing on hardwood floors.
The way their laughter filled the whole house.

One of the greatest skills we have as photographers isn’t clicking the shutter — it’s seeing.

I’ll never forget a newborn session years ago: everyone was fussing over outfits, blankets, light… and then I noticed mom absentmindedly rubbing her baby’s tiny foot while talking to me. Nothing staged, nothing planned. Just love, right there in front of me.

That moment became the photograph.

The art of observation is what separates “posed” from personal. It’s watching for the way hands find each other, the way kids collapse into giggles, the way light shifts across a living room floor.
