I don't usually go out to take photos of the cherry blossoms because of the massive crowds, but if you get up early enough, you can beat the tourists to the Tidal Basin. However, every photographer in the DMV will already be there at 5am.

Devin Castle, perched above the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers just outside Bratislava, Slovakia.

This cliff has been fortified since the Celtic and Roman eras, became a stronghold of Great Moravia in the 9th century, and later served as a border castle of the medieval Hungarian Kingdom.

Napoleon's troops blew it up in 1809, leaving the atmospheric ruins and the iconic Maiden Tower that stand today.

During the Cold War, the castle sat directly on the Iron Curtain, surrounded by barbed-wire fences, watchtowers, and armed border guards with orders to shoot anyone attempting to flee Czechoslovakia into Austria. At least 42 people died trying to cross this stretch of the border. Today, the Gate of Freedom memorial at the foot of the cliff, its stone pillars riddled with bullet holes and iron bars bent open, honors those who lost their lives seeking the other side.

Ruins of the Roman frontier city of Aquincum (ancient Budapest, Hungary).

Aquincum was a major Roman city on the Danube River. It grew from a legionary base into the capital for the Pannonia Inferior province. Its population peaked at around 30,000 to 40,000 residents. The civilian town was abandoned by the late 3rd or early 4th century AD amid raids; the fortress and military settlement endured into the 5th century AD.

On this page, you will find a record of my experiences around the world. I capture my experiences through photography not only to share these moments with an audience but also for my own understanding of what I have experienced. In other words, I can spend some time looking over a photo and always find something new I haven't seen before. This, at times, leads me to new conclusions about that moment. I wasn't always in a place where I could travel, but I hope with my ability now and my art, I can, in a way, help provide a window to those that cannot yet explore the world. For those that can and that have traveled, perhaps this page can introduce them to new locations in which they have never seen or thought of traveling. I hope here I can use photography to bridge divides between cultures and points of view.
